I've been reading the Good Book of the Lord all morning... LOL!
Maximum Boost

Ya... me and the guys where discussing it some more last night... where trying to work out all the details before I jump head first into throwin down any cash, lol.
We talked about fitment, turbo size and running the pipes, and much like you we feel the 35R may be the best route.
I've also ran into another snag and have to do some more research on the 3000GT manifold piping. I've worked on four VR-4's in my time but for the life of me i can't remember what direction the manifolds faced. Its tearin me up inside that i just can't remember! The issue here is that from the pics one of the manifolds is facing upward (see pictures below). The bolt pattern on our motor is the 3 bolts is top and 4 is bottom and with the 3KGT manifolds one of them faces the exhaust port upwards. I can't remember why. Gona look it up here in a min. But it might not be a big issue because i can just cut the "Motor Flange" off and just turn it around and re-weld it. Nothing beats hacking up a new $300 part before it was ever even installed on the car... LOL!
I also tried looking into 3G Eclipse manifolds but no one makes any. You would think a car made back in 2000 would have a turbo manifold by now but I guess people still don't have any love. Someone NEEDS to make the Turbo Hot Side piping for the 3G and 4G cars. Something that will fit both cars would well be worth the investment.
Manifold in question... three bolt holes is the top and notice that the exhaust port is also facing upwards. (also notice that the exhaust flange is different then most. I need to figure this out also, but when i fab the turbo y-pipe ill just get a flange to match it. So its not a big deal.)
The Other Manifold... four bolt holes is bottom and the exhaust port is pointing downward like it should.
