TPMS Help

Ok so I had rims put on they changed my tire pressure sensors replaced old ones worked fine, but worked for a month then started Blinking. Took it to the place about 2 months later just because there hours don't work with my daily schedule, they told me all my sensors are good there 09 sensors on a 08 car. I don't think that matters but it's info, he told me it could be my tpms receiver and told me to take it to a dealership. But I can't find the receivers anywhere online so what do I do? Trash the car and buy another one or wut?

I wish I had the kind of income to trash a car simply over a busted sensor...

While it may not be the answer you were hoping for, I'd personally just ignore it. TPMS is less than vital, and in all honesty, you really don't need a light on the dash to tell you you have a low tire (it's basically a dummy light). Put some tape over it or yank out the bulb if it bothers you that much.

Take it to the dealership, have them scan which sensor is messed up (assuming it's only one), and have them replace it. It's a bit expensive for a single sensor but it would kill me to have to see that light blink for a minute every time I got in the car.......and stay on.

That doesn't really make sense...weird coincidence that ALL 4 of your sensors would just crap out...?

Sorry for not giving updates, long story short, the cats who installed my rims and lights in my car did a shit job. Didn't even put all the screws in my lights and bumper rear and front... I also requested my TPMS sinsers to be changed since the car is an 08 the sinsers had a year left anyway, they up 09 sinsers and now there trying to say they never changed them. And there asking $200 for all 4, So a law suit will probably happen in the near future.

have same problem. Changed my tires at Kal Tires last year and eversince then, I always had TPMs light. Want to punch someone everytime I drive.

Dealer wans half a grand to fix it so I just decided to ride it as it for now.
I dont know reflashing ECU will fix the prob but I'm scared to disconnect batteries.

Any update on what happened after reflashing?

The reflash was amazing, I drive a GS Spider Auto and my 0 to 60 was like 8.4 secs now it's 7 on the dot. I don't think a tune will fix a TPMS light, I have just came to the conclusion that there failing. They only last 5 years and maximum of 7 years

Thanks for the update. You are correct, the TPMS only last so long and my car being 08, it should be outta battery. Either way, in order to put new TPMS either OEM from dealers or my own, I still need to take it to dealers for them to reprogram it anyways, which will cost couple hundreds here in Canada...it sucks.

Btw, what does reflashing ECU do? I read it on forum and I have an idea on how to do it as it is simple, but I'm afraid if it will fu*kup my car or ecu

hackish is the common tune for our cars who is a guy on this website, he sets the rev limiter higher, adjusts the fuel and timing, yada yada yada to increase mpg and horsepower. Also removes the govener for our cars which is 135 to 155, if u have bolt ons or mods its beneficial to have his tune as it can be adjusted.

Its completely safe dont worry, you can tell hes a guy that knows what hes doing and invested alot of time into it with over a few hundred successful vehicles running it.

Tuning the car to run better then factory. You can have a stock car and have it tuned and see a 15+ HP gain eazy and get better gas mileage. And raseing the maximum RPM so you can stay in gear longer. It's a real good investment in my opinion.

Wow seems to be a good idea to invest in such thing. I have 08 GT with 78k on it. I'm guessing it works on all models? Do I just ring up Hackish and ask? I frankly have no idea how or what it does but more efficiency sounds good to me! I read on the forum introduction that I need to be careful when I message old timers, so I guess I will do my research first...hmm.

Here's how to get a tune

Process for getting and installing a tune... - support.fastworks.com

And how to contact him outside of the forum (Michael)

Email Support - support.fastworks.com

You can also PM Stayer (Stas) on here, he does tuning as well.

It's done over the internet, you need a Tactrix Openport 2.0 cable and a laptop
