New oil and filter going in today, hopefully it'll take care of my engine ticking.

Cleaned up the lettering on the valve cover, which was a bit corroded and looking nasty. First pic is partway through the job. The second is the "after." It's not perfect, but it's a lot better. I may hit it again this weekend with some coarser sandpaper.

Waited at the Canadian boarder on the I-87 for three hours last night in bumper to bumper traffic. My car is a stick shift, and it was on an incline. My left leg is broken, my clutch is no more.

Me in Toronto last fall... I feel for you.

Stripped out most of my interior (all panels, entire dash down to frame)

I had a rattle. *evil straight face* It had to be fixed.

The interior is now silent like a brand new car. No creaks squeaks or rattling.

Exhaust on the other hand, another blown gasket.

Replaced the blown gasket. The old one was blown out the entire top and bottom, hahaha. What a piece of shit. I put the OEM one back on with gasket maker. Nobody around here sells the flange gaskets for our car

I painted that. Not my car, but I definitely do enough work on it, hahaha. Someone crashed into it today. Fixed the fender, repainted it, and while we had everything out, I decided to paint his hood. It was all red from a previous accident.

Now it has the same stripes as my Eclipse! (Hiding in the background, hahaha)

Still needs clearcoat and a bit more paint, but we ran out at 12:30am. Still plan to make the black thicker, wet sand it, clearcoat, and wet sand again.

PS: It looks photoshopped to me

Old STB out

Tanabe STB in

Had to turn a ground 45 clockwise to clear the bar. Other than that and the Engrish instructions, it was a pretty straightforward install.

Also worth noting, the brake fluid reservoir is now completely inaccessible with the Tanabe bar.

Got my winter rubber out of storage today (Toyo Observes)

Bath day!

Somehow it got covered in tar. Both doors, all 4 fenders, hood, front and back bumper... Mud flaps were pretty tar free though. Took a lot of scrubbing.

Blah...I need to wash mine too. I'm sure it's colder up in Ontario than in Kentucky but I'm not a fan of car washes in under 70 degree weather...gotta hit it before snow though!

Need rear endlinks to complete the Progress bar install (old links are seized). Found OEM ones for $18.56 a piece, should I go for it or are there better options out there?

endlink, right
endlink, left

No idea, man. But given the dearth of aftermarket support for the 4G, the stock ones may be all there is.

Thanks. I took the liberty to email AutoCity Imports (whom I bought the bars from), and they suggested I buy their endlinks. Not sure who makes them, never seen yellow ones before, but they're asking $105 for the pair +$25 shipping. Does anyone have any info on these?

Tested its snow plow abilities now that it's lowered. Does a fine job. Especially where the exhaust melts a little trail!

(Decent blizzard. Had to drive with no headlights, else I couldn't see)

I thought I saw you in Kingston yesterday, modded post-facelift orange GS drove by while I was putting gas right by the 401. Had to check your location just to be sure lol.

Spending the weekend up in Waterloo for a friend's birthday, put about 670km on the car so far.

The quest is over, back in town after 1340 kilometers. Would've been less if my GPS hadn't insisted on taking the grand tour of Salaberry de Valleyfield and Dorion. Damn thing is due for an update.

Ordered two Moog rear endlinks (part #K750030) at $24.37 a piece. OEMs were cheaper, but they wanted $50 for shipping versus the $21 Moog wanted, so went with them. Hope they fit.

Just picked up three cans of Brakleen and six cans of beer, and now I'm sitting here waiting on the FedEx man to bring me some shiny new rotors and pads, at which point she'll get new brakes. I've got a nasty vibration/pulsation right now when slowing down from high speeds, and hopefully the new hardware will help.

Completed my TWM GS shifter w/Big Type R knob (graphite grey) & aluminum base bushings on Wednesday. Took longer than I had hoped.

Still got a Progress rear sway and Moog endlinks in the garage waiting to go on

Stock GT knob for comparison

A warning to anyone looking to pick up aftermarket shift knobs: these things get mighty cold in the winter, so wearing gloves is recommended.

Looking to pick up Torque Solution's under hood shifter bushings, but can't seem to find them.

Installed the spacer and bumped up the locker to lift the knob a little. Hopefully it'll provide a more seamless shift transition.

Mines bigger!!!

Just picked up the Raceseng Ashiko, at a whopping 735 grams, with engraving to match the Eclipse 6-speed shift pattern. Loving it so far, but you're right, bare metal knobs do get chilly!
