^^There you pretty much said it. It depends on what you want. Since that's what you want why not really find an AWD Coupe such as Nissan GT-R? I'm not trying to an ass here but AWD Eclipse wish posts are getting extremely old and you have to face it's the past and IT WON'T HAPPEN.
Just like Piddy and Jimbo said, Eclipse competitors are car's in the same price range and none of those cars are AWD so what's the point? Of course all of us would love to have AWD but put yourself in Mitsubishis' shoes. Why would Mitsubishi spends more money and introduce the AWD for Eclipse when it's sales figures aren't pretty and lack of competitor but against it's own line up?
I'm not even sure why are you even comparing Subaru to Mitsubishi base on AWD. Subaru doesn't even make a sports coupe to begin with so its completely irrelevant to bring Subaru in for this. Mitsubishi's new Ralliart Lancer and it's hatchback are meant to go against WRX not Eclipse. When another company makes an AWD sports coupe within 20-30k range then I'm sure Mitsubishi will think about it. Right now it's just not worth it.
Nowadays I could care less if It's RWD/FWD/AWD. None of those matters when you're just driving on the regular street with civil matter. As long as it moves off the line quick enough when the light turns green, why does it really matter?
