2.5" catback woth stock resonator?

Hey guys so I'm going to have my exhaust put on in the beginning of april, I'm not interested in losing my resonator as with the muffler I've bought I've heard sounds like a can of bees. I'm looking to upsize my piping to 2.5inch but am curious as to how I could make that work with the resonator? Am I able to upsize the in/out of the resonator without having to purchase a new one or do you think I could get away with slipping the new piping over the in/out? Perhaps I'll keep the stock piping between the cat and resonator and go 2.5 after the resonator, thoughts?

Get a 2.5" resonator or a massive glasspack. Don't bother choking your exhaust just so you can keep using old parts in it. Just do things right, even if it costs a little extra.

It could be done if you take a pipe expander to it and make it fit, but I don't suggest that route. If done this way, keep the small piping leading up to it, and only go larger after it.
