Maximum(non sc/turbo) HP out of the 4 cyl?
So I'm wondering, what is the maximum number of horses we can be pushing all motor with no spray, I've heard conflicting things, some say over 200 all bolton, some say like 180 all bolton...but I'd like to get a clear answer on this, and basically what is the peak hp number we can shoot for.
This goes into developing my build as I want to achieve max bolt on hp, add nitrous, and then start a turbo build...take my time with everything to try and push the highest numbers possible out of a GS. |

I honesty think that 200 whp wouldn't be that hard to get will all possible bolt ons and a good tune on the aem fic

PM me friday afternoon, I am getting my tune, and a dyno so I will be able to provide you with this answer. I am reallllyyy curious myself. I have CAI, headers, straight pipe, HKS can, under drive pulley and the FIC. So itll give everyone something to shoot for.

prob 220 max the thing about our eclipses is our performance chip constricts alot of our hp/torque so getting a new performance chip could add 20-30hp alone. Mine added 22 hp when i had my car as a gs. I did an engine swap. Here's where I bought mine, and I definitely say its worth it.

Despite the personal attack on my age I will overlook that and now prove my point.
Why do you think it is that everyone on this site with a heavily modified eclipse makes use of the AEM f/ic It's not because they hate themselves, but rather because a "performance chip" for the eclipse has not been developed yet...except for hackish's which no one really knows too much about These chips have garnered a bad rep all over the internet, and I am sure when a more senior member of club4g posts here they will agree with me Granted the concept behind the chips makes sense, the eclipse ecu is very limiting, however those chips specifically will do nothing. Finally, despite my age I still know the proper use of your and you're, which you have misused in the post attacking me. Perhaps learn what you're talking about and make arguments in a coherent manner. |

Hmm..Bigger pistons, higher comp, GREAT tune, All the blot on crap you can find, Port and Polish head/intake..Bigger tb...Bigger valves....

a buddy of mine recently bought one of these things for his new chevy pickup truck.i tried to warn him but he was hard headed.he tells me TODAY that his temp gauge was showing overheated.so then he took it back off and everything is back to normal.money WASTED!!! LMAO

If I eat a bag of chips before I dyno the car will it have higher numbers, or do they have to be performance chips

even 195 is a vast improvement over stock which is 140.thats what im shootin for as soon as rre gets off their ass lol

If their was a chip to run our car I would of done it waaay before this. I'm not tryna hate on you but the AEM F/iC is really the only thing we have. I took some vids of before tune and after tune pulls and you can tell a major difference. Maybe you haven't had the opportunity to mess with them like some of us have here, granted I have never attempted this chip no do I ever intend to.

zumspeed--if you hit 200 w/o cam id be really surprised. not saying you cant do it but your best bet would be to throw that in there. cant wait to see the numbers though since my f/ic will be arriving any day now.
oh and about the chip...did anyone else realize they advertise it usually cost $400 but they are willing to let it go for $70?...hahahahahahaha. how could it know what the car needs before it even learns your parameters for your mods..? you have to tune according to what you have added. so at best its a basic unchangeable map for the ecu but after you add cold air or exhaust or whatever, its useless. actually its useless before you even put it on....(and since when do we have a factory performance chip???)lol

Haha man thats some funny stuff about the performance chip but its so true. I remember when everybody was debating the jet chip about soldering there ecu or something like that. There is no performance chip that works for the 4g which sucks.

Steven if you actually got that chip to work props to you but that thing sounds to good to be true. But if you actually have that thing installed Id like to see a video of it working. I know alot of other cars work with chip tuning but or ecu still hasnt been chip tuned yet.
