I'm clueless when it comes to cars.
I'm 100% Clue less when it comes to cars, so I'm looking for someone to tell me what I should put in my eclipse.
Looking to make it faster of course but nothing too ridiculous cash wise, any suggestions? Bone stock atm. |

flaming is getting uber old.
just go look at our search homie, type in intake, pulley, and headers, all the pages youll find will provide everything, including how-to's, and dyno results for each individual mod.

![]() Your mileage may vary on the below advice. Hilarious way to start off a discussion dude. Clueless about cars usually correlates with being clueless about the tools of the trade. There are many automotive tools you need to understand to work on cars. Exterior and interior mods, performance mods all require tools like torque wrenches, air compressors, impact guns, socket sets, and the list sort of goes on and on. You need to get a handle on the basic tools and you also need to have access to them! If you've got that then the next step to decide on what mod you are capable of doing with the help of a friend or two if needed. What mods to do really depends on what purpose your car serves you and how much money you are willing to spend. If you only have one car and need it to drive to school Monday and don't have a couple of grand in the bank to get someone to fix it if you really fucked up then don't plan a big performance mod on the weekend because your car might be laid up for weeks. If you share your car with your chick or your mom or whatever then make sure they are cool with the mod you want to do as well. I've been modding my cars for years and I learned mostly everything I know from working in a local shop on weekend and week nights in the summer with friends who are very knowledgeable. Other than that, these forums are wealth of information as well but they don't give you that raw experience which is what you really need judging by the clueless comment. Remember whatever mod you do to your car you have to have the know how and resources to see it through to the end and do it right. If you don't do it right then you are literally endangering yourself and others especially with performance mods. Consider very common mods that most guys do nowadays to their cars so you can get help locally if needed. One such mod could be a Cold Air Intake (CAI) which is fairly simple to achieve and fairly inexpensive and will give you a couple extra hp. You can do this mod in an afternoon. If your GS is an automatic then be sure to do your homework on what CAI you purchase. There is some recent interesting discussion about a favored CAI for our cars being difficult to purchase but I'll leave you do your own homework on that front and if you decide to go with a CAI as your first mod you can always ask questions on these forums too. Happy modding. |
