Da Mister E is on a distinguished road
obx lt for gs questions

after seeing the price of the obx header for the gs on ebay, I figured id search them on here, which brought up more questions.
thank you all for the anticipated help

1. are they really as bad as they are made out to be?
2. how hard is install, i am assuming it would be harder than the rre?
3. instead of welding to stock exhaust can you use a pipe clamp?
4. can you run with the 3rd cat? if yes, do you still need to weld the o2 bung?
5. does the o2 spacers clear the cel?

1. are they really as bad as they are made out to be?
NO, People just dont do it right.

2. how hard is install, i am assuming it would be harder than the rre?
Not harder but does require MORE work.

3. instead of welding to stock exhaust can you use a pipe clamp?
Only if you want to deal with exhaust leaks in the future!!!

4. can you run with the 3rd cat? if yes, do you still need to weld the o2 bung?
Yes you can...Yes you will. The header only has 3 o2 bungs. our car had 4 o2 sensors.

5. does the o2 spacers clear the cel?
If you either get the right ones or make the right ones.

Pm me if you need some answers.!

WHY WOULD obx DESIGHN A SPECIFIC SYSTEM FOR A CERTAIN APPLICATION, AND NOT INCLUDE A PLACE FOR THE 4TH 02 SENSOR?

Because obx has another product sold separately "Test pipe" or cat delete and it has the "lower" two bungs needed for the sensors. The bung on the header thats by its self is for a afr gauge. Or so i was told.

then why do they include the stupid pipe with no bungs with the header? I was just thinking thats not a bad value, $235 for a SS long tube with a section of pipe that deletes the cat in the downtube included, but i guess im starting to see why people make the install out to be hard?

what is hard about it?

especailly of u can buy the test pipe separately and just put a plug in the 5th hole.

The best thing to do honestly is install the header itself, Then take the rest of it to a shop and have them weld the down pipe to your existing exhaust. Put spacers on the lower o2 sensors and its a done deal.

i find it odd that pipe is straight, and the one included with header is not. no mount flange either. have to take a look while up on stands doing springs and see what might work well. thanks
