Exclamation Car is getting worse.. >.<

today when i was driving home from work and the car was cold it was bogging down so badly down to like 400rpms or less it seemed that i had to keep my foot on the gas a little while i had the break on at lights to keep it from dying.....can this seriously be from my o2 sensors? i feel like its something bigger. only thing besides the obx header that ive done recently is change my spark plugs to ngk irridium's....could those be causing a problem?

If you gapped the plugs right then they should be good. The o2 sensors do play a huge part in how its freaking out. Mine did it when i had that header on. Have to tried double stacking the spacers?

well i only bought the set of two off ebay... soo id only have 2 on one side and none on the other lol, ive been reading though that this can be caused by vacuum leaks? so maybe i need to check my intake? and can exhaust leaks farther down the exhaust pipe cause this issue even tho its passed the o2 sensor?

im also thinking it may be intake related because the code just says bank 2 it doesnt say sensor 1 or 2 or whatever.

and this problem sounds ike a spark plug problem...they could be flooding, missfireing, stuff like that...i would check that first cuz it would be easier to check.

o2s= ecu reading. if that is fucked. yes your running and entire combustion will freak your car. stack one spacer on each plug. if that doesnt work. go get some 18mm defouler plugs, bore one out. and stack it on the other plug

intake= check your maf sensor. make sure its not imploded.

if its a pre cat exhaust leak, that wouldnt do that but it could throw a code. post cat. it will just be annoying

If you over tighten you will strip the threads and hate your self FOREVER
If you dont tighten enough you shouldnt be working on a car.
Make sure your 02 sensors are plugged in haha that will fuck shit up.
Get some plug foulers dont drill them use them in the header then use the ones you bought or drilled then put the o2 sensor in

If you have a ses light plug that bitch in and read it..... If the car runs good when cold but when it warms it starts running like shit it's one of the 2 o2 or maf sensor.... Get electric cleaner spray and spray down the maf sensor that's easy to do

Yea you dont have to gap the plugs. I have spacers on my OBX headers ill go take a pic for you. The spacers HAVE TO BE on the sensors with the black wires. I had to extend one of mine to get it to reach. Did they extend one of yours? If so make sure thats not backwards...

you do not gap iridium plugs.

it could very well be an exhaust leak.

and yes, if your o2 sensors or MAF aren't telling the EcU what it expects to see, then it could cause the probs you are describing.

Well it's deff a exhaust problem I don't think you can mix the o2's up don't they all have different length wires? I know it's impossible to mix em up on the GT

if they are idridium plugs they aren't suppose to be gapped at all.

if they are gapped in correctly, then your engine MAY not run correctly - misfires, ext.

its oil, and ive tried all the tips ppl have said with the o2 spacers and double spacing...this car has given me such a headache. and its getting progressively worse, it use to idle fine but now it nearly dies and sounds like its choking and the engine moves a ton just at idle.

Fizzix will become famous soon enough
Forgive me for joining this thread late, I'm new to the Mitsubishi Eclipse world. As I see it, the problem you are having is the car is idling too low and it wants to stall. Is this correct?

You may want to look at the idle air control valve (IAC). I'm not sure where this control valve is on the engine (it's after the throttle plate, usually on the intake manifold somewhere) or if Mitsubishi even uses one, but if it does this is the sympton you get when when they begin to fail. Basically they act like a controlled "leak" allowing enough air into the engine when the throttle is closed so it can maintain a correct idle. Let us know how you do.

man take it to midas or some muffler shop and see if they can find a leak. that is what I would do. it's almost like your running the F/IC and the MAF voltage is set too low....but you aren't so I don't know... check for exhaust leak, my 2 cents.
