Pulling my hair out!
ok. ive been reading some threads on here (random threads cuz im bored as hell at work ) and i jsut have a simple question....should i or should i NOT put RRE short tube headers on my car..(i have a CAI, and a axle back Megan N1 exhaust, and THATS ALL) if i do this...is my car gona work still? im reading horror stories about cars BLOWING up, and more and more threads about 'this car is too new to mod' and stuff like that... i mean...im about to just turn around, and sell the damn thing on here for 400$ and not even bother with it. i dont want it to NOT be able to idle, and i want it to run fine. but have a LIL more push and a LIL better sound (which the RRE headers will do! ) and im just scared now...if i do it, im not doing it myself. SCREW that. i'll pay the extra money and have a shop do it ( i know its simple to do...but i dont wanna screw it up) MAIN POINT! is this worth doing? could it screw up my car? should i just stay with what i have? i want personal opinons...every thought counts...thanks.

umm what? There shouldn't be any problems with installing these quality headers with our cars.. I am not to sure where you are getting this information from i mean our forum has a bloody waiting list for these bad boys so unless the user or shop totally installs wrong and puts c4 in your car to blow then as far as i know there will not be anything wrong. The only thing you have to worry about is if your car is going to be tested for smog etc.

just do it.you know me bro. i have RREs. the only thing wrong on OCCASION is you might throw an o2 sensor code. your car isnt going to explode. or the tires wont fall off. its just the engine telling you your opened up and its having a hard time reading emissions. easy install. awesome gains. awesome sound. if you sell if because your scared ill kick your military ass lol. if you put a CAI in your not gonna have any issue with headers.. you damage your MAF sensor your entire fuel layout is royally screwed and you werent worried about that were you? you damage your o2 sensor and its gonna be like OMFG I CANT READ THE FUMEZZZ... but your car will still run.. so think about that one |

You see the biggest gain in performance with a header as opposed to any other bolt on for the 4G69.

just do it man! and try it yourself for god sakes... it took me a whole 2 hours to put mine on with just a floor jack, wrenches and some penetrating oil... all it is is the manifold nuts, 3 bolts on the DP flange and the o2s thats it! theres no way you're gonna fuck anything up. just be careful with the o2s. mine were a bitch. its way easier if you leave the stock manifold in the car and remove the o2's first... i didnt and trying to get them out with it in a vice or under your foot on the ground is a PITA. I get an "o2 sensor low volt" code occasionally in cold weather, and thats it. no stalling, no exploding.

If you are nervous about this install you should:
1) Take a step back. 2) Place your palm on your face. 3) If that doesn't work increase the speed of your hand. 4) Continue this process until you aren't a pussy.

yo man seriously what have you been reading? the rre header is a direct bolt on to our cars. The header comes with everything you need in order to eliminate the ses light. So literally the only problem that can come up for you is if you damage your own o2 sensor while switching out the header.

Do it yourself it's only one header man... Plus if things go wrong you know exactly what and how everything works

i didnt get the headers from RRE i got them from someone on here, so it is only the headers. no spacers for the o2 sensors.
