the toughest part will be finding where to mount it. you'll need at least a little fabrication to get it in there, I bet. I'll snap a picture of how I mounted mine.
got pics of the model so I can see what you have to work with?

for emissions. theres a small amount of oil filtered into the intake and shit. and this filters that out. leaving nothing but air and fuel. no extra oil and shit. Will (deprydation) said he had about 4oz of oil after 10k miles.

I picked mine up for like 35 bucks shipped from e-bay. Then I had to buy some extra hose because of the GT.
You GS guys shouldn't have to buy extra as long as you have a good mounting place. I had 4 ounces of oil(measured) after about 10k miles on my GT. Given I'm only filtering one of my PCV lines. The other one that leads into my intake isn't filtered but there is also no oily residue on my intake piping. |

ok - seeing the pictures I know just what you need to do - you can do it just like I have mine as long as that spot is open on your engine. let me get a picture or two of what you'll need....

Ok, here are the pictures of how I would do it.
Here is the kind of metal piece you'll need. If you can't find it at a hardware shop, then let me know and I'll send you some.
![]() Ok, here it is - wrapped in electrical tape for a cleaner look; and you can see the back of my can - bolted to the metal piece. ![]() You will bend the bottom, making and "L" shape w/ the metal. the longer, vertical part is where you'll mount your can. The bottom, shorter, horizontal piece, you'll bolt to this metal lip that comes out near the ECU/wires box on the drivers side corner near the headlight: (you can just see the metal lip down there.) ![]() Hopefully this is clear - just look where I'm pointing out here (a zoomed out shot from the front of the can to see where I'm talking about) and you should see the lip in there. It's perfect for our purposes. ![]() of course, you don't have to do it this way, but it's worked perfectly for me. The metal with the tape seems to dampen any vibration and produce no noise or clanking, but also 'gives' a little if needed, so it's not solid in there and likely to shake loose or scrape against anything else. Hopefully your GS has the lip, and you have the room to do it this way. Even if not, that type of metal seems to be a good choice and is very versatile.

glad to help, Jeff.
on the vacuum/oil lines, yeah - one of the GS guys are going to have to point that out. I'd give it a shot by looking at the manual, but I'd want darkside or someone to confirm, anyway.

There should only be one on the GS. It should lead from your valve cover directly to your intake manifold.
If you can find this. You can install this easily. |

well then if you really thought you needed a catch can you could do what we used to do on our karts ant that was take a gatoraid botle the ones with the twist top on the remove the green twisty part hook your line up to the orange cap. drill a small hole in the cap for a vent then zip tie it to something. now i know that is very very redneck but it works very well and it sure does beat paying 20 bucks for a catch can. also it your line does not run down hill the entire way the oil will pool in the low spot in the hoseand your motor will have to blow all that out of the line before it can vent properly.

Not looking at alot of the specifics. It's a pretty basic thing and if you can convince ONE SINGLE member to use a gatorade bottle as an automotive part on this forum, you sir have found our only moron. |

yeah - everyone on here seems to have at least some level of standards - and a plastic bottle under the hood is below them. I know 4gs aren't lamborghinis' or anything, but they aren't beat-up run down pontiacs, either.

Wow, 4 ounces of oil is a lot, it looks like this will be my next mod. Joey, where did you buy the hoses for yours, or did it come with the Megan Racing catch can? Most of the ones I see on ebay have that blue see through hose that came with Jeff's kit, but I think the black hosing that you have would look cleaner and more OEM

^nah it almost never comes w/ enough hose. I picked mine up at Palace Auto Parts - but I'm sure you can get a sufficiently rated hose at most auto parts stores. (autozone, o'reillys)
yeah the only reason I left and kind of like that clear hose is you can see when there is oil going in there - i.e. after spirited driving, etc.

Yeah, for mine I went and picked up 10 feet of 3/8ths heater hose and shrunk it down to whatever size the actual PCV's are. I didn't dare use the crap they sent me with the can.

Thank you, that was my next question: what size hose. Is it easy to shrink the heater hose, like with a lighter, or should I just measure the actual hose size and buy that size?
