So a friend, whom holds a journeymans welder card, has offered to weld/teach me to weld and measure a full exhaust setup. We are going with 2.5" and a 16" resonator hooked up to a magnaflow 50 series (had one on my 92 firebird and hooooly shit).

What do you think of that? Im hopin for a quietish idle and a deep growl upon acceleration. He does have a mandrel bender thingy, so im hoping i can get some opinions on what amount of a bend(radius to length) not to exceed. We are gonna model it close to the oem, but keep it as straight as posssible.

I have searched and didnt find much. Opinions? Flames? All are welcome cause i cant stop you from posting what you will

I think oem is only 2 bends.... That's pretty straight to me..... I have yet to hear a gs accelerate and make a low tone..... Experiment and prove me wrong man goodluck

do you have headers? It won't be too loud or deep w/ out them.....no matter what else you do. my 2 cents only, but if you love a mean exhaust note, you'll need the tubes.

We are working on headers...kinda. waitin on my obx ones to be affordable...then we can design some after the oem. We're just goofin around really, but tryin to have fun

if ya delete the 3rd cat,keep the oem resonator and no muffler.it WILL be loud too.fart cannon sound and drone out the ass ! and thats with the oem manifold.after a dude asked me if i had a fart cannon on it,the very next day i went back to the muffler shop to have them install the magnaflow

How restrictive would a magnaflow be? I mean i like the looks of the oem one, so what would you recommend? I like how the borla tips look too

i have 2.5" pipe magnaflow 18" resonator and magnaflow muffler. i like the setup. doesnt drone now with the resonator. i also have the rre header.
