exhaust being ran soon

I am going to have a cat back installed next week.
its going to be 2.5" pipe with a magnaflow muffler.
I dont want it be loud, or raspy. so heres the question. whats the pros and cons of having the exhaust shop delete the resonator.

eclipse_6g75 is right without the resonator you will be raspy, i just had a resonator put back on to help get rid of the raspy sound.

what resonator are you talking about ? the only restrictive parts on the exhaust, besides the manifold are the 3rd cat and oem muffler.the rear resonator is a straight through one with zero restrictions.if you are referring to the 3rd cat as a resonator,as some people do,get rid of it if your state will allow

Our cars cats are the OBDII right? Theyre a more high flow converter than the ones in the past?

I say get a header setup, Good flowing muffler or cat back.

well,he said he didnt want it to be loud.so deleting it and putting on a universal mag muffler will free up some flow restrictions and will not be loud and have a deep tone.i felt pull when i did this and wasnt looking for it

It will be loud as shit without the all of the cats and resonator. Imo it will sound good as long as the 3rd cat and resonator is there when you install a muffler.

i am referring to the resonator right after the "main" or 3rd cat.

so getting a Magnaflow hi-flow cat wont see any better flow vs our OEM?

It will but not by A LOT. Every bit helps though. Our cat is restrictive, but not as bad as the older model cars.

in that case, the resonator is NOT restrictive at all.think of it as a gun silencer.i see no reason to mess with that unless you just want to waste money.
