Other gt tb models?
Ive done a search and didnt find a definative answer for my question. What other mitsu models and years have the gt tb that has the same bolt pattern as the gs? I figure that other models that have the 3.8 L v6 such as the galant and diamonte and such would have them but who knows? I need to know because for my birthday my wife is letting me get a gt tb and a sri. In an effort to get the tb inexpensively (45$) ive gone to pick n pull and got a list of all the mitsus they have with a 3.8 L v6. Before i waste hours in the junk yard this weekend id like to know. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Damnit driver, go easy my friend. Hey another question, since this fucker runs richer than bill gates in nikes will this prospectively make it run leaner (in theory) or will the ecu compensate and just dump more fuel in?

god you know your shit. lol. that idk either. but i have no SES light. so im sure the ECU compensated somewhere. although... your theory seems logical. CAI= More air= better ratio? idk

When you first put yours on did you have that all too familiar rough idle (till you reset the ecu) as is common with massive induction increases? 15MM tb plate diameter increase as well as the less restrictive sri? I figure my hp increase will be about 11 since the sri boasts 7-11 and the tb 10-12 but of course those numbers are with all other corrosponding mods so i took the average of both added together and divided by the number of mods and drivetrain loss

The correct answer to the one posed by your ex is more money then ill spend on you bitch, i loved it before you and ill love it after you. Then you get your buddys to pull the gnarelling, scratching, ranting (in between nonsensicle blathering sobbing) bitch off of you. But if theyre good buddys theyll just laugh and give you shit for it later.

3k rpm is when you feel it. your not gonna feel any lower end power (maybe a bit cause the throttle is more responsive) but once you pass 3k you feel it all through mivec. every mod is felt best through mivec

Yeah, i hardly feel mivec now but i guess thats because my car is bone stock but i feel a slight tug after 4k and hear a difference, but thats about it. I love how throaty this car sounds. Especially when i take off the front part of the box at the track. Then i feel mivec

I figure after i get all those irons i have in the fire hammered out ill get underdrive, msd blaster packs, colder plugs, rre headers, larger exhaust pipes 2.5" (i like how the stock muffler sounds throaty and not rice), And ill have my buddy lathe some lighter pulleys for the other accessories. And the wideband fi/c more than likely in that order. Then ill probably have to stop or face divorce. $$ you know. But for now after 5 mo of having this car i convinced my wife to let me get the tb and sri this weekend.

the gt tb had me confused after i first put it on because the intake started sucking more air at 3k rpms in 95 degree heat.when its below the 90's not so much just smooth pulling. i originally thought that was when mivec kicked in because thats where the pull started.come to find out,4k rpms is when mivec starts so it was a surprise realizing the gt tb was not a placebo effect
.you can allso put a small breather filter on the ccv in the summer time to avoid extra heat going into your intake tube if YOUR ecu will allow it lol.i say this because i have not had anymore idle dips since the small filter install in 95 degree heat where the idle would sometimes dip.winter time though,it will be hooked back up to the intake tube for various reasons.the interstate is where the gt tb shines imo.

ok, so i have an sri.
HOWEVER i have rough idle and very slow throttle response. no ses light. it seems i have loss of power but i believe its due to heat soak. that bastard is hot as kim kardashian in the sahara. sounds fuckin beasty but it seems ive LOST power untill mivec kicks in whooooooooot. any body else notice a loss of torque? ive done reset the ecu, let it idle for ten min and still same shit. i guess ill wait untill i go to work tonight as the engine cools off. heeeeeeelp!!!!! see avatar for pic of new sri looking at yours snakeeyes i see that your maf is farther away from the filter, i have a 90deg elbow that may remedy the problem. ill try a couple of things and let you all know how i hammer it out.

SRI have a propensity to heat up because of their proximity to the radiator fans, you may actually lose a little torque but make up for it in horsepower. That being said if you dont like the feel just switch to a CAI

perhaps i have the maf too close to the filter, having rough airflow over the sesnor may cause it to freak the fuck out varying fuel compensation. whatya think? if so ill just install the elbow. i still have my stock box so i can fiddle a little.

the maf being too close IS one thing, but that filter needs sheilding and the help of the snorkel feed.i pm'd you.if your serious,i will help you out.

another thing,if you'll notice on the aftermarket intakes, the place that holds the maf sensor.that section is smaller than the rest of the pipe letting ALL the air flow go over the maf.i have this setup except im using the oem maf tube which has worked out very well for me.IF your maf sensor doesnt sit in the tube like it does with my custom setup or the after market tube setups, this could be another reason why your idle is acting up because there is too much space inbetween the tube and the maf.i highly suggest you do it exactly like mine or go cai.it sure would have been nice if k&n would have made a sri for the gs so i wouldnt have had to do all the damn experimenting ive had to do lmao
