So im doin my daily routing with mother natures Total Headache Cure(think about that hahahaha) and i was wondering...what if i port out my exhaust manifold, cut off the two cats on there, and weld in my own custom downpipe or whatever its called that would takes its place.

What would that do for me? Possibly open up the flow and make it less restrictive? Albeit cheaper than headers....

They'll probably crack. Ask mother nature about cause and effect, but if you can weld, why not just make your own?

youd have to get material that would withstand the heat, and i dont think home depot sells that kind of tubing

Haha home depot my ass. I can go to the local mill and get ss cheaper than hell. I was more so curious if welding in new pipes there would be a decent subsititute. I mean yeah, i can weld my own, but how would i know it would be a good flow? Sure you can chime in saying thats where i should buy headers, but im just trying to find a moderately cheaper alternative.I dunno, just trying to figure out stuff to do that could make our lives easier

Edit:alboe, i know cause and effect. I presume youre saying the stock ones would crack when i try to cut off the precats? I didnt think theyd be that brittle. I understand that heating and cooling the way these do can cause that, but i was hoping the metal would be a little stronger than that

ha appreciate it the idea. But keep brainstorming and i am sure you may pull an "Einstein" moment producing something positive for our platform.

No hatin guys haha and if i do, maybe ill share it

im gonna be trying to make my own headers fairly soon, gonna go with a 4-2-1 design. I feel that would be my best bet at making a decent set

If you can make some headers im sold, as long as the tubes are mandrel bent and all the same length. Give us a price and give rre some competition.

Hey man i didnt mean to hate, i had no idea you knew where a mill was but hey definately if you get that 4-2-1 design and are able to integrate the o2 sensors, then bro ill prolly be one of your first customers....as long as you give me a good price.
