Hey man, every tiny little but adds up. Little here, little there -- and you have a big something.

Why does the GT TB give us more HP -- I know that's a dumb question, I just don't understand how....

Its bigger then the one you have. Allowing more airflow = more hp.

Cool. Pretty simple.

I've seen 'GT Throttle Body swap' everywhere, just never seen a reason why it actually helps.

Thanks bro. I'm now slightly less stupid.

^naw dude. just learning about a new thing - a complex mechanism to be sure, but the basics are not too daunting once you research a little. you've probably heard the anology before but think of the engine as a "big air pump" - so the more air you can get in there the better! the stock parts are built for cost (cheapest that can get the job done) and comfort (quiet in the cabin) so the OEM intake, filter, piping, manifolds (exhaust and intake), and exhaust system are all quite restrictive. Making it more quiet and less powerful. "open up" the engine with a CAI, headers, and a big exhaust pipe w/ a straight through muffler, and you are allowing more air in and out much quicker. HP goes up! hell yeah.

Ha np that's what the community is for. Not exactly sure on how much hp is gained from this swap but its nice to have another mod for a power adder.

Where can I buy a GT throttle body for and approximately how much will it cost me? Is the swap simple? I mean, it is a drive-by-wire throttle; does that make the install difficult, or does it not make a difference?
