CAI/Air Filter Replacement
Hey everyone im new here so sorry if this is already posted anywhere... Anyways i just bought a 2011 Eclipse GS brand new and im looking to do some under the hood work to it! I searched the internet and it looks like there isnt really anything aftermarket to buy for my specific year... Would i be able to put a 2006+ CAI in my car or will it not fit properly? Or should i just wait for parts that specifically say for 2011 models? Also, im looking for cosmetic parts such as smoked tail lights and black badges. Thanks!

well you see, they stopped making CAI for our car. they claimed it was such an un used part, it fell off the market... so the 2006-2008 models are made specific for that year... no 09+ have been made. the intake manifold has swapped sides in the newer ones so they wont accommodate... and tails and badges have also been discontinued... sorry man

Wow.. My luck. i just bought her yesterday too haha. Sooo aside from CAI i cant even do something as simple as replacing the air filter? At least to add to the tone of the car. Thats really sucky.

yeahh and the real kicker, is all the other performance parts are slightly too small.. like the 09 header ports, are like 2mm too big to fit old style headers. FiC doesnt work with the new ECU and to get a quality exhaust. you damn near have to make it yourself...

i checked out that website. its pretty sick. But like i was saying before all of their performance parts say 06+ and its misleading if performance parts for 2011 models dont exist... it doesnt help either that those people are impossible to get into contact with haha.

the only difference that i kno of between 2006-2009 besides the body is the fog light bulbs. when it comes to just installing bolt-ons nothing has changed so wuts with all the talk about fitment issues ?? 06-09 ur fine dont worry about it. 2011 specs have not changed

Thats the ticket haha. Thanks alot! I guess ill be ordering a short ram intake. We get bad snow here in Philadelphia and i dont want to run the risk of sucking up water or slush.. considering my drive to work is about 40 minutes. Any brand suggestions? im looking at AEM and Injen. I heard they are pretty reputable.

Alright guys im about to order this! Just double checking with you guys before i buy it because all sales are final and i dont wanna be stuck with an intake that i cant install. I was told on here that anything 2009 would fit my 2011 GS and from alot of shopping i found this to be the best deal... INJEN SHORT RAM AIR INTAKE 2006-2009 ECLIPSE 2.4L 4 CYL | eBay let me know! and thanks again you guys are awesome!

Where can I find one of those? Website wise cause stores around here don't seem to have a good selection. And thanks for the input. You probably saved me a lot of stress. I'm new to this car so all the help I can get would be sweet.
