thats the best move you can make so far.the problem is that the smaller pipe on the front half is too small.its not even oem size.yea, the add description sounds good right ? 3 times more air ? lmao.the vendors need to get this shitty intake off their site for the eclipse so people will stop wasting their money.$2-300 for it and then have to get a maf sensor.another $175 and then another intake, another $2-300.that is an expensive lesson to learn

I had tons of problems with mine as well. Finally had to pull it out and go back to stock.

I saw another thread where some ppl are raving about the DC Sports CAI, that might be the way to go, great price on part too.

DC Sports CAI

you know, there are alot of haters and honestly has everyone tried it yet? I have had a Weapon R Secret weapon intake for almost 2 years now and have nothing but good results, my mpgs are great (i even drive it aggresively) my maf (which i took out and checked) is in prestine contidion, my a/f ratio untuned is right where it should be. my welds and quality are prestine. hell i even took it to my bro's shop and compared it to the stock by hooking it up to a vacuum and an airflow sensor. Im sorry some people have had bad experiences, but its not like we can diss and entire company for one event take fujita and their welds, how many people has that happened to yet we still recommend them.

just some food for thought

Jamista just because you aren't having any problems doesn't mean you can't get a better product for the same price. I think that's what it all boils down too

ok,ill take this a step further.in this pic,it shows the front half of the weapon r connected to a spectre pipe. demensions look the same on the bigger part(note, spectre pipe isnt a noticeable difference in size compared to the recommended aftermarket pipe intakes for the 4g for the gs)looks like it matches up great to me

in this pic,i will show the difference in diameter with the front half of the weapon r vs spectre pipe.hmmm

in the last pic,it shows the front half of the weapon r pipe sitting inside the spectre pipe.looks like a huge loss of air to me.

still not convinced ? then i dont know what else to say lol
note;this comparison is not about a spectre pipe, its simply to show how much air your losing with the weapon r.if they would have made the front half a 2.75" diameter pipe and used a quality air filter, then and only then would it provide more power and no engine problems

If I had to choose any cold air above them all I would pick a Fujita Cai, had it on my car before my conversion and loved every minute of it. Such a bang for the buck upgrade and overall just promotes a longer, healthier engine life.

thats a huge difference bro, but for my position, an intake that i get for free as a gift as compared to having to pay 300 bucks for it i am very well satisfied. but it is good know the difference in the pipes. also i agree you can get much higher quality but as of now i am very satisfied.

once you get a correct pipe size intake, you will enjoy it.dont let this 1 intake give you a bad rep towards other intakes.as i said before,i tried a custom setup with the exact same demensions of the weapon r pipe front to back.drove for 15 miles and i watched my gas gauge drop like a rock.not to mention what seemed like to be a 10 hp loss.luckily,i didnt run it long enough to throw any lights.

Weapons R does have some problems and it's the way the air flows over the MAF/IAT sensor, seems these problems goes away once you change out to a different air filter; however, I can't remember which filter people switched out to.

Also with a SRI and this Summer heat equal extreamly hot air being sucked into the engine which will also cause problems. So it's half of one, and half of the other.

Just got a call from auto city imports. Let me say first off that their customer service is ballin haha. The Fujita CAI is back ordered into hell so there sending me the Injen SRI for the same price as the Fujita. The guy on the phone personally told me the weapon r was shit. I appreciate the honesty he said ETA was tomorrow so I'll let you know.

sri, cai.whichever one a person gets, just make sure to keep the air filter clean.ive seen some pretty nasty filters on here.that translates to less air flow and loss of power.on this car,it makes quite of bit a difference.

edit;this is one example of how an air filter SHOULD NOT look
FS Fujita F5 CAI and/or AEM Bypass Valve

i feel you on that and i really wanted a CAI but this is my first major mod on a brand new car. It scares the shit outta me The SRI would be easier to install i think and im not extremely car savvy yet... Well see how it goes. As far as a heat shield or whatever for the air filter, is that really neccessary? Like is it a good thing to have?
