18inch

Forgive me for the shit question went on search but couldnt find anything. If i put 18 inch tires on my 07 eclipse will it look like it was lowerd because where i live i cant lower it wayyy to many potholes and i cant stand the gap between the wheel. Does anyone have a pic of there car with 18's and not lowerd id love to see it.

if your buying rims to make it look like your lowered I'd say go 20s. I don't think you'll notice much with 18s

No, only way is to lower. Bigger wheels take smaller tires to equal out and be the same

before you do that, look at my photo album, that was with 20s before i lowered. And pot holes are shitty where i live too, just lower it a bit, and it will not be a problem. 20s will cause more problems with pot holes than lowering will, becuase to the skinny ass tires. Just letting you know from my personal experience.

dont put 20s on the eclipse
19s max
and get meaty tires, they will give your better ride quality even if you lower it and you wont have to worry about bending the rim when you hit a pothole

I have 20's. They look awesome and even have a one inch bigger tire so my ride is super smooth. Downside as stated above. I hit a pothole and bent a rim. Not enough to loose pressure but. Just enough that when I look at it I get pissed. But im a perfectioniist lol

Even if you get 20s, you have to get smaller tires. Thus, your overall size remains the same. This is always the case, and if not done will mess up your speedometer. If you go with bigger rims and bigger tires, your goal will be accomplished, but make sure you recalibrate things.

I see what you're saying, it's only a mile per hour off. Fact remains, it is off. I think my statement is valid.

You may not feel a mile off warrants recalibration (I probably wouldn't go through the hassle for just one mph off either), but it WILL throw things off. Because of that, it's something one should take into consideration and very least be aware of. I think the OP inquired about keeping the OEM 18s and adding bigger tires. He would need more than one inch to fill that 4x4 gap Mitsubishi cursed us with... so he should be aware of any problems that may develop when doing so.

What he decides to do with that information, is up to him; but at least he can't come back here and bitch us out for giving him wrong info.

I gotcha. Not trying to knock ya, I saw a gt with 17's on it. Probably the worst eyesore I have ever seen as far as wheel gap. I wouldn't reccomend putting bigger tires on. That would just look stupid. Definitly lower.

nokiauser has a spectacular aura about
If you're afraid of potholes and ride comfort, then get the Eibach ProKit springs.

You can still rock the factory 17x7.5 on 225/50/17 or go 18x8 with 235/45/18 tires. The meatier the tires, the more cushion you get on bumps. The prokits don't make your ride any stiffer than stock FYI. They just make your car easier to drive if you personally ask me than a wobbly suv height stocks.

I think it was in one of your pictures where you had a stock PRIUS with less wheel gap than the Eclipse. If you look around, you will notice EVERY car (not CUV/SUV) out there has LESS of a wheel gap than our stock height Eclipse.

tein s techs or not at all!! hahaha jk , just do a slightly lowered suspension with 18's and sum beefier tires, say maybe 245/45/18s (personal opinion) and you're good to go.

wheel gap isn't the only reason to lower either, even if you dont want to lower that much due to road conditions etc. id still say lower it some, prokit or sportline etc. just because the handling of the car is soooo much better and you'll fall in love with it.
