welcome to being part of a system where you are to CONVERSE about the topics.... you can search all you damn want, some people would rather have a convorsation with others and obtain the same information (which also leads to new questions and scenarios) that can be gathered by reading 500 threads, you ever search for intakes? there's about 10000 threads that pop up, most of them fucking useless because people like to bash others for the sake of asking questions....

i think all you regular members need to get off your high fucking horse and calm the fuck down. you were a noob, in fact you still are... and you always will be, you will NEVER know enough about any one topic... so how about you regulars just fucking help the new guys, some of the misinformation they provide is coming RIGHT FROM THIS WEBSITE, so how about we be helpful rather than disrespectful and try to provide people with information. if you can use the search function better, why dont you search for them and post them a quick thread, you clearly can spend the time to bash them, why not be useful for a fucking change.

its just getting rediculous, and it sounds like i'm pissed... but i'm not, i'd say more upset than anything else, i was part of other car clubs and i've NEVER seen so much bashing for people asking the same questions... give it a rest and be helpful, if you dont want to be helpful, try to keep your bullshit pissy ass comments to yourself, all its doing is causing the rest of us who WANT TO HELP AND BE USEFUL TO THE COMMUNITY to fall off the grid and say fuck you to the rest of the community.... that is NOT the way communities and clubs work...

in the end you wont find everything you're looking for just by pressing the search function. the search feature on this website is horrible...

so for those of you who would rather bash noobs for asking questions, why not step it up in the respect department, and start pointing people in the right direction... saying read the rules and search isnt helping, if that hasnt clicked in yet after the thousands of thread creations, then you really are as daft as you appear on the forums...

coming from being in a service industry where people ask me silly questions all the time, and the silly answers i end up giving to get their problems resolved, doesnt stop the fact that new people will ask the same questions even if you provide them with the information before hand....
ever buy something that needs assembling? did you read the instructions thorougly before you started? in most cases people tend to try first, find instruction if it doesnt work. in our cases with cars, people just want to know a bit of information which ALWAYS leads to more questions, which need answering.

being helpful is how you get to your community to be respected, and as i see it now, this community is rather piss poor with the way new members and questions are treated...

and as for you dax, didn't i just help you setup a recording device on your pc so you could get started using it and making tracks... did you ever think i do that type of shit all the time? notice how i didnt treat you like crap because of it, you asked a question, i told youi could hlep, i even waited until YOU were ready to get it done.... this is the type of shit i'm referring to, i went out of my way to help you, even though, to me, that question might have been stupid, i still helped you in a polite and resepctable manor... that is what being a community is about.

I tend to just keep my mouth shut, but i am here to be helpful, gather information, and provide as much information as i can to other users to help them with their goals and aspirations.
i'm tired of reading forum posts that just belittle users when they ask something simple as "what's a cai?" or as advanced as " can i boost my gt, can i keep my stock compression ratio of 10.5:1, should i air<->air cool, or go with air-> water cool, meth/water cool, what should i do to combat heat?"

lets just be friendly, polite, respectful, and helpful, communities need new members ALL the time if they want to survive, and we just push them away by existing members treating them like crap for asking questions.... whether its a repeat or not, a question is a question and it needs to be answered.

i also would like to note i wasnt trying to single anyone out specifically, so dax -- I appologize.
but it was a great example as to why our community is dieing and what we should be doing to help it grow and explode bigger than the honda fanboy clubs.
this site has alot of great knowledgeable people, and a plethora of information that can be used for any build for anyone's goals. But we can't keep doing what we're doing and then bitch about the site being slow, less people, and the community shrinking, we're doing it to ourselves. so lets try to reverse that process and be helpful for a change.

go read the last 25 new member forums questions, there's plenty of users that have flame posts on there just because they were asking something thats been covered. what help has this provided? none, has it made our search function better by providing the correct information? no. did it help the community grow? not really -- that account may still be on our forum system, but that doesnt mean the user is logging in anymore... and then we result in whats happening in calgary, someone new to the club mentions it to a fellow enthusiest, and they get snubed because of the drama going on, on these forums.

doesnt sound like a very helpful community if you ask me...

I could honestly go through every single dumb pointless thread, find their questions they asked and find a topic that has been discussed 3-5 times easily. When someone asks a valid question that needs the attention of people, I'll respond. I have seen maybe 2 of those questions from people in their "noob" stage in my time on the forum. To be honest, I'm the only one out of our whole area that is actually on here frequent, Pdiddy, bemine and horse eater rarely come on, due to the fact that all of the questions on here are pointless and could be answered from the thousands of threads previously made.


You honestly think that the 4g community is dwindling because of the forum site? Have you taken note of the people that have left and moved to other platforms? Almost all of them are people that build their cars up, they built the eclipse up (which doesn't take long) and then sell it. The 4g aftermarket sucks dick, and to be honest I don't think it will ever go anywhere. So for you to say that people are leaving because of this site, you sir are very wrong. Stick around for a couple years and see all of the same questions and then I'd like to see what you have to say then.
