All cats gone = More Power??

Alright, so I did use the search function, no bueno.
I have Headers+SRI on my car, so the first two cats are gone. Now, the third cat...
I have a few different scenarios I hope someone can shed some light upon. But first, let me be VERY broad, and ask this first... How can I squeeze all the (Preferably torque) power out of my exhaust system?
Scenarios...
Straight pipe back w/o cat w/o muffler...
Straight pipe back w/ cat w/o muffler...
Straight pipe back w/ racing cat w/o muffler...
Straight pipe back w/o cat w/ magnaflow RRE muffler...
Straight pipe back w/ racing cat w/ magnaflow RRE muffler...
Also... The Aero 2540i is looking interesting... Sound of exhaust isn't a issue for me. For the week I had open headers, I loved it. And the stock audio does a good job.

nokiauser has a spectacular aura about
From what I've read, without the 3rd cat, there's going to be quite a bit of raspiness in the exhaust sound. You would need to add an extra resonator.

Dependin on the muffler used wit no cat it can sound very ricey. I think the hks muffler cancel that out nicely. And dependin were u live u will fail ur inspection wit no cat. I personally would go wit a high flow.cat n dependin onsound u want straight pipe it out or add a muffler

man I honestly don't know - no way to know which of these will actually produce the most torque w/out trying them on your car. I would not go w/out a muffler. If I were to choose I would do the performance cat and the Magnaflow. that is me. you may get a FEW more ponies doing it another way - but this is going to perform good AND sound good.

ha nice suggestion but I doubt he is going to want to spend the $$ to verify if it adds power. If he feels a gain then he won't bother.

Im thinking the Aero Exhaust Muffler AT2540I just because its ignorant loud lol. So I would need a resonator? Hmmm... Is a resonator like a cat? :3

Hmmm thanks Joey. Why wouldnt you go without a muffler? Because of the loss of massive amounts of down pressure? I kinda figured that the no cat/ no muffler would be a big fat X lol

I've looked up N1... and its really coming down to N1 vs Aero Exhaust Muffler AT2540I... :X
Is your sound deep and clean, or raspy at like 4k rpm?

^^^ Hit it right on the proverbial head.
I just want to know the BEST gain before I do something dumb like buy an eBay JDM rice rice baby one for 40$ lol.

So guys. The question is partially answered? Straight pipe to muffler/no cat?

to answer your question about why I wouldn't go w/out a muffler, I guess I just think it wouldn't sound good, but I don't know for sure. You can always try it and see what you think.
here is my set up - 3" SES by Injen from RIPP long tubes. (performance cat in there)

If you have over-ear headphones it will sound 10x better.
Long Tubes to 3" Cat-back

whats messed up is that they are advertising a horsepower bump and not saying that they are running tuning software to get that gain

Hard to say from the dyno graph, our cars run rich from the factory ECU, if it had been tuned, it would have been leaned to 13.1 AFR all the way to redline, which prolly would have netted a few more ponies.

those dynos also werent done on the same day. if you zoom in on the graph you can see it maybe touches the 12 afr section but it generally above that dotted line which is the 12s section.

I have OBX long tubes, racing cat, Aeon imports 3" resonator, and custom pre-axle dual with magni-flow mufflers and it is still loud as heck. My racing cat is flanged at both ends so I can swap in a real cat for inspections....hate the inspection laws in NC.

Didn't notice that much of a gain loosing the pre-cats buy the rear cat delete gave me noticeable gains. I can really feel the difference when i swap the real cat back in for inspections.....feels like I'm dragging an anchor

i think this was with the header no 3rd cat or resonator and a aero turbine muffler.

The no cat w/ Aero muff... That made me smile wide. You definitely made my decision. Thanks.

Thanks man! You combined with a few others have sealed my decision. I love this place, and love the people!

So, it has been decided, No cat pipe along with a Aero AT240 w/e muffler.
Best sound (akley88, and opinion)
Best performance (trev's chart)
Best pulling power (NitroGlisson)

Thank you all for helping me out, and possibly some other newbs.

I haven't read a single word of this thread, not even the OP, because I do what the FUCK I want. I mean....I do what I WANT.

But according to RRE's dyno, yes it does increase power ; )
