CAI 09+ ( not noob )
ok so some interesting news here. I talked to i think his name wuz samurai on here and he has an 08 GS. his DC CAI lines up flush with the throttle body and the mounting bracket is located perfectly, everything great. i have an 09. does not line up flush with the tb at all and mounting bracket is about an inch in and up from where it should b. im just wondering if anyone GS 09+ has a cai and if so wut kind.
i kno wtf im doing with the installation so its not me missing something. and i also know i didnt just get a freak intake that wuz messed up during production because i matched it up with another one. and does anyone know if something changed for 09+ that causes this fitment issue ?

I'm not any help here but just wanted to say that is screwed-up and hope you find a resolution. Haven't heard anyone else complain about this.....yet.

autocity carries that intake now and is labeled 06+ so i may give him a call just for the hell of it. i got it from jm autoracing tho.
and i am pretty sure injen cai is fine for 09+ but wtf is that our only option ??

i was also thinking of how the injen cai connects to the resonator cover, if i could cut that port off and weld a patch over it then polish it up nice. because i cant use the cover on mine and i dont want to. may even produce slight unnoticable gains

but i will get a pic today of how it lines up

I feel like there aren't any CAI for the 09+. I could be wrong but I thought we went over this somewhere on here I'll try to find it quick.

well here is my injen sri chillin happily
![]() ![]() this is the most flush finish i can get going to the throttle body but as u can see in the following pics the mounting bracket is way off (like i said i tried custom brackets) but in that position there is absolutely no room to fit the filter behind the fender (fog light housing comes out about 2 - 3in to far ) ![]() ![]() then when i place it on the mounting bracket correctly the tb connection is way off as u can see in these pics ![]()

how much more can the filter come up ? only way i see it is to get your own rubber spacer, washers, and a bolt to raise the bracket up so that the pipe will sit even with the tb.if you cant do that, then its fabricating time.

^ ya i tried every type of custom mounting. and the thing is when the tb end is flush there is no room for the filter to fit. i was thinking injen cai, cutting off the resonator port, and welding a patch over it cuz i kno the injen fits

Lol. I got a 60$ CAI off of ebay, didn't fit, so I took the 2nd piece off and made it a SRI. Rubbed against some mechanism... So I took a paint mixer sticker, painted it black, snapped it accordingly, and there is this greenish plug called ATP or something, black masking tape, and Viola. No more rattling of the sri against the thingy...
