Top speed?

i have a really good question here, if our cars are "electronically limited" to top out at about 135ish mph, why did my car go over 150mph on the dyno? I understand theres no air drag and no weight being pushed by the engine while on a dyno, but that doesnt mean it was 'goverened" to not make it to that speed, answers please?

dyno sheet to prove the 150mph..

naw man, remember the tuner is the one inside the car when on the dyno, and all he had was the reading kill switch when he wants to stop the dyno. he just told me that my 4th gear was long as hell and that he hit 150 and sum change on the redline on 4th, and the dyno sheet sure does prove it

so im flabergasted at this

Without any aerodynamic mods, you shouldn't attempt it. Neither on the track, nor the street. When a gust of wind can throw you off course and split you and your car into pieces, you know its a really dumb idea. Feel free to do it on a dyno though. Thats what they're for.

I drive a gs auto, 4th gear is my last gear, so it does not top out at 110.

and i dont plan on dyno-ing again for a while, this just intrigued me, because t says my car did not limit my speed on the dyno

even if it wuz my tuner and he told me that and i saw the sheet, i still wouldnt believe it until i saw it with my own eyes. but it really does not matter if u top out at 130 or 150 cuz u will never reach either in a race anyway

exactly, we have to remeber dyno speed is never the same as street speed
one has to factor drag and weight, which kills top end speed. this was just fun to see

Me and Clayton raced plenty of times to the speed limiter. My car sead 140 but the speed sensor is not that accurate at those speeds. So still probably only going 135.

I drive a 07 galant es, the 4-speed auto has an electronic overdrive that kicks in at about 110mph, my car has topped out at 140mph

The first weekend I had mine i got it up to 142-143 and it still had some more in it but i was on a single lane road and caught up to trafic. Took a long time to get past 110 tho. I'm curious to see if it will get up the any faster with the bolt-ons but I just don't have the balls to do it anymore.
