OBX Header Question (not noob)
Since im hearing that the RRE headers are on hold for whatever reason i was looking into OBX headers. Question is, do these headers have two 02 sensor hookups like the stock headers or do i have to relocate the second 02 sensor to the third cat under the car? if the OBX headers have two 02 sensor hookups then i can finally take out the cat that the car doesnt even acknowledge and put in a straight pipe in its place. Ive done alot of research and i finally want to get this all done. This is the only thing thats holding me up. My shop said its no big deal to relocate but if thats the case then im stuck with a shitty 3rd cat.

I have not heard good things about the OBX headers for the GS....but I hardly know, I've never owned them or even known anyone second hand who has. So hopefully someone who has actually installed and run them can chime in here.

its a risk but hopefully ill have luck with them. i wanna hear from others that have them installed before i drop the money. I ordered header wrap so ill wrap up my stock ones for now just to see the results. not planning on keeping them wrapped just a little experiment before i go all in and get heads.

yup his shop got them fitted properly and welded the bungs in . . . dont worry about problems with the headers, they just need some minor work

forgive the thread jack, but ive been wondering if headers built for 3G 2.4 eclipses wont work on the 4g, and if so, why not? ive noticed more companies make headers for the earlier models.

the 3g wont fit because the exhaust manifold design is different. there is a exhaust gas re circulation design in the head that the 3g 4g64 doesnt have. the obx header requires another o2 sensor to be welded on i believe, but if you can get them cheap and get them to work i say go for it. the rre's are hard to get because they really only make them when they get enough purchases- mainly group buys.

I have the GT OBX long tubes but thought I'd comment anyway. My headers came with the pre-cat O2 bungs as part of the header. The second set (post-cat) of bungs were on the pipe that connected to the collector. I cut that pipe and put a racing cat in it with the two bungs following the cat. I did have all kinds of issues with codes...tried three different O2 spacers and all the combinations using two....never did get the codes to stay clear. I have since had flanges put in on either side of the cat so I can swap between a real cat and the racing cat for inspections.
I have had nothing but good results from the headers themselves. No weld issues or any kind of leaks. Again my comments only pertain to the GT long tubes. I had read here there have been issues with GS headers.

Yep, I got em, and they work great. I get one code, and its catalyst below threshold. Its pretty much telling me that my headers are working and I have no header cats.
![]() I believe if you bung them straight across, you will get no codes, because zumspeed did it and he says he has no codes. But the god damn "L" spacers are like 20 a pop. I NEVER have misfire, I NEVER have funny idle. Only MiVEC and sore ass holes in the mirror. EDIT/ADD ON: The OBX headers has 2 bungs, 1 AFR bung, and the pipe piece with the cat in it has 2 bungs.... I forgot how I got mine set up... and im too lazy to check right now, but i got pics of it successfully configured on one of my threads. Great headers, and they look 200000x better than RRE or what ever IMHO.
