Mivec?
Im not sure if my mivec solonoid is working, how would i be able to test this? Sure it has ok power delivery but i dont feel much of a difference after 3800 rpm from 3/4 throttle to wot. It sounds different after that rpm, a little throatier and a definate whistle from the sri, maybe i need more mods. Like the headers ive been begging the wife to let me get or the underdrive pulley i anticipate receiving this CHRISTmas
Pro tuners, sugestions? Help? Explaination? |

![]() in the GT at WOT you definitely feel a kick in the pants at 4k rpms... not sure how hard it hits in the GS though... i'd think if something was not working, you'd have a CEL... |

I pop one every once in a while, ill either clear it or it goes away on its own. codes are fuel comp, o2 sensor, egr. The sri prompts these every 2-3 weeks or so or when i go on a long trip.
Any way to manually throw the solonoid to test like a resistor or something? Or apply power to a certain wire som'eres? |

do this, turn on the a/c and floor it, it will be sluggish as hell, when you feel the little bump that is mivec

You answered your own question right there...sounds like it's working to me! You aren't going to see a big difference from 3/4 to full throttle... Try this...put it in 2nd at a slow speed and floor it...watch the revs climb and there should be a noticeable hit around 4K...

After the intake mods on my GS i don't really feel the mivec kick in, I know its there because the tach will shot to 6k really fast, and it sounds different.

I hear mivec in my exhaust. Its loud from 1000- 2500, and quite til 4k, then its a deep roar with a whistle in the intake.

you'd be better off putting the rear hood seal back on,take a piece of it out so air will still flow over the im,remove the front one and put some cell foam pipe wrap on the upper radiator hose !!!!
