i dyno'd my Spyder before and after installing my CAI... i lost 25whp...
i wouldnt do it if i were you...

seriously my man, go to the GS specific forum and look at the first 1 or 2 pages, i can bet you there are at least 5 threads referring to just that, with user comments, dyno sheets, etc... or look under "Eclipse Performance", and again, there are 4-5 threads to address that...
I'm not familiar with the GS, but i think Injen, Fujita, DC are good choices...

Hey man. I also have a GS, I've used an injen CAI and a DC sports CAI. I haven't had any experience with the fujita. First, the fitment with the injen was great, and it wasn't hard to put it. The DC fitment was pretty crappy. It was tight and a pain to install. The injen is a 2 pipe design so you can switch between cai and short ram intake in case of bad weather, whereas the DC (and fujita) are a 1 piece design. As far as sound I couldn't tell a difference between injen and DC. As far as power, I feel they are same in the lower end and DC is lacking drastically in the higher end. I currently have the DC on because as much as a pain it was to get on, i couldn't be bothered to take it back off. I'm sure you've noticed the injen is a little more pricier, but I'm selling my injen 2 piece for the GS for the price of a fujita. Its a great intake in good shape and it doesn't have a lot of miles on it. If you're interested visit my for sell thread here: FS: Injen CAI for GS (2 piece) Thanks man

If you lost 25 hp with a cai then you installed it wrong.... left the box or packaging on the filter or somethin, lol.

If you loose HP when installing a CAI this means the CAI doesn't meet the car's specification wich creates a bad air flow and mess up the MAF's datas. When i installed the shitty Weapon-R SRI i lost a lot because this SRI was doing shit and messing the air/fuel ratio and made my car running too high on fuel.

I runned for months on the Injen SP1870 with my 2006 GS and when i removed it before giving the car to the dealer, there was no interest on driving this car anymore. The Injen CAI gives an awesome sound to this car. GT TB + Injen CAI + RRE underdrive pulley = FUN.

I had a custom sri on that i had fabbed for me. It was awesome, gave it a ROAR at higher rpm's. I completed the sri with a cai extension, and its now a whistle. My friend said i had a turbo without a waste gate. Lol, noob.

You can get the intake parts from Autozone and make it into a 3 piece design:
short ram, cold-mid ram, cold air intake

Intake will cause you to lose power. Don't believe me, search this forum.

In all of the time i've been on the forum... i've never heard of that. Unless you have leaks, or the weapon r intake (which isnt even bad, its just the filter), i don't believe you'll lose power...

Your not going to lose power with the cai its so much better air flow and the air box in the gt looks like a two year old put a bunch of peices together and as fair as which is the best theres no exact answer to each his own
