really dumb strut bar question

ok so i dont get flamed, i did a search and to my amazment there is no "how-to" for installing a strut tower on a 4g gs. i didnt think i needed one, i put on on my old 2g so i figured it was easy. well to get to the point. the fucking thing wont clear the damn reservoir for the brake fluid! i think it the brake fluid i am probably wrong. the point is, what the hell am i missing or doing wrong? it wont go down past the white cap. well if there is a "how-to", than fuck me... sorry im a little frustrated.

which one you got? stock GT? Tanabe?
i dont have experience with the GS, but on the GT, you have to wrestle it a little bit behind that reservoir, but it should fit. many people have installed strut bars on their GS's with no issues...

all strut bars but the oem gt and the carbing lay on top of the brake fluid reservoir and prohibit you from opening it.

when i say it wont clear it i mean i cant get the bar to go down far enough to attach it to the other side. its i would say about 1" off. i know i wont be able to get to that cap and i am not worried about that i just want to get the thing installed so i can reap the benefits. i got the bar form my friend he said it was a tenabe.

if its red and says tanabe on it then its tanabe, if not then its not. as far as fitment did it come off a 4g? and you may have to apply pressure. although benifits from just that bar alone are minimal at best

fabguy has a spectacular aura about
Pictures... I cant remember from my Tanbe but some bars are bent up. Could it be upside down? If its a Tanbe you should be able to read that in the middle of the bar. If you cant its either not a tanbe or its on the bottom.
