Hey guys, just trying to get a little extra information from what people have already said. I'm sure any answer helps.
I was looking at different exhaust systems and I really cant find much on the megan cat-back system for the v6. I see a lot of people have just the axle back or muffler. Basically, I just want to know how the sound is and the durability of it. also if there is any gains in power, or gains in power mixed with a CAI.
Thanks.
Whoever said it's not louder than stock is incorrect. It is a lot louder than stock if you remove the silencer/baffle from the muffler. Durability has been fine so far, but I haven't even had the thing on for a year. But it's solid. My biggest gripe remains the poor design of the front muffler hanger.
That said, I agree that if you can find a shop to do a 3" exhaust it might be cheaper. But if you want to DIY, overall I'm happy with the Megan.
As for power, I'm not sure. I have a K&N intake and a tune, so my car is a tiny bit quicker than stock, but I've never dynoed it. There probably are some gains, but they're not mind-blowing.
Thanks for the input. I really do want a DIY project, I have a buddy that can get me an Injen cai really cheap so I wanted exhaust as well. I was looking around and it seemed like the Megan oe-rs had really good pricing and I was worried about durability or about being ricey. I am happy with any gains at all. I just want a little nicer/louder sound out of my car. the only thing that worries me with gains is i'm at 82k on the clock with the original clutch.
Sorry for the bump but the exhaust mentioned was
OBX Universal Muffler Mugen Twin Loop MG01 2.5" or 3"...I really like this sound, does anyone have any thought of this one? Thanks guys!
