FYI Injector size is 305cc.

Anyone know the RPM crossover point for MIVEC activation? I need to setup my EMS...

How did I find out that info? Quite simply I looked at an injector, read the part number and deciphered the injector size. Every single injector that has EVER come in a Mitsu has the injector size stamped on the injector.

Since I'm swapping in a MIVEC 3.8L in my Stratus, I got the chance to see an injector.

I can absolutely get you stock style drop in injectors in the 450cc range. Literally drop right in, no mods necessary.

Questions:

- What is the stock fuel pressure for the GT?

- Are the GT injectors low or high impedance?

P.S: Thank you for posting the injector size!

Look into WRX injectors I dont know if the GS and the GT have different part numbers for injectors but if they are the same then WRX HI TF injectors will fit right in as long as you have a way to manage them. FYI since they are also Denso style the plug right in like stock

Contact Deatchwerks for bigger injectors.

FYI RC is a manufacturer not a type of injector. RC won't make drop ins for this platform.

i looked at Deatchwerks and all they do is refurbish you old injectors... doesnt look like they sell over sized injectors.

i am familiar with RC and already know they do not make injectors for our platform although i have emailed around and people have said they can get injectors cut specifically for our car but when you ask for a part number to find out more info they beat around the bush.

/me inserts food in mouth, chews it up, spits it back out.

Deatschwerks

Ask for 6 of those instead of just 4. They will work. Might have to shim the rail a tad but other than that....

Fuel pressure is 47 psi at curb idle. Injectors are high impedance.

^ Thank you very much sir!

And if there high impedance like the Lancers and Subarus, just throw some WRX top feed 440cc or 560cc injectors at it. They should be direct bolt in just like they are on my lancer.

will the lancer and WRX injectors require getting their clips for the injectors and splicing into our harness or are they plug and play?

Direct swap. Harness clips are identical. The only thing I'm not positive is if the height is identical. Either way, if it's a tad taller or shorter it's easy to shim the rail to adjust.

Like USC said they are denso style so the plug into ours just like stock as far as height I don't know for the GT but on the GS there is no shimming required

Yes but why go RC if WRX injectors are a direct swap with no clips and a lot more readily available meaning you will probably find a set for cheaper

The clips are the same and from what I'm looking at here the heights match up as well.

Just take into mind there are top feed and side feed injectors in the Subaru world. You'll need top feeds only!

Stock Subaru Injector Options:
2002 - 2005 Subaru WRX "Light Blue" 440cc Injectors (Roughly $100 a set of 4)
2006 - 2007 Subaru WRX "Dark Blue" 565cc Injectors (Roughly $200 a set of 4)
2002 - 2007 Subaru JDM STI "PINK" 550cc Injectors (Roughly $300 a set of 4) (Also known as 565cc even though they only flow 550cc.)
2002 - 2005 Subaru WRX Modified 740cc Injectors (Roughly $400-600 for a new set of 4 or $230 to modify a set of 440cc.)
2006 - 2007 Subaru WRX Modified 840cc Injectors (Roughly $400-600 for a new set of 4 or $230 to modify a set of 565cc.)

This might be odd....but I took note of this when I was going through the specs.

Cam height
low A (low lift) : 33.55 mm (1.321")
low B (mid lift) : 37.35 mm (1.4705")
high (MIVEC) : 37.21 mm (1.465")

Why is the mid lift higher and thus opens the valve more and perhaps longer than when in MIVEC. Wouldn't you think the two would be swapped around and more air/fuel mixture in MIVEC at higher RPM?

Anyone elaborate?

^^^ something you're forgetting is that in Mivec it opens BOTH the valves that much not just one. So there's a much higher total flow than before the Mivec activates.

It also opens them 15 degrees earlier and closes them 17 degrees later as well, so there's an extra 32 degrees of duration there as well...that's alot...

Spent some time looking for this info in the FSM, might as well get it here for anyone else interested. Its the same for the GS and GT

Basic ignition timing at idle
5 BTDC 3
−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−
Actual ignition timing at curb idle
Approximately 10 BTDC

If a shop were to do it, how would they find out? Would they call Mitsu? Or do they already kno? If so, could you call a shop and ask or call Mitsubishi?

There are 3 different lobe heights...under normal conditions one valve opens to lobe height #1 and the second valve opens to lobe height #2...then when mivec activates BOTH those valve open to height #3.
