Tip if your messing with engine

Have a spare engine cover, or a long fat flat head screwdriver to help you take the previous one apart. I am in the process of doing my sparkplugs and as I take the engine cover off (just recently took my dads off so I didn't think it could be much harder) I pull evenly and boom! Now I have about 7 small engine covers.

Anyone have one for sale?

^yeah good call Pat. and there's a trick to where to precisely pull on the puppy that they talk about in the service manual....I think.

Haha yes of course I unscrewed the three screws, I am not that dumb! But I don't want to dish out $170 bucks for just an engine cover, when I still have a pretty big expense for what I need to do to fix a couple more things on the car. And I couldn't find anything in the service manual about it.

haha, i had to check Matt that does sound like something I could have done, so dont take it as offensive

well, get some crazy glue then, or post a WTB thread here... for every cover that RRE sold, one guy here has a stock one laying around !

PS: i guess i got lucky, the dyno guy removed mine 3-4 times, and never broke it...

Polish your intake and go without I have dread every time I have removed mine so far...spacers/plugs, catch can, and last the FIC. Best of luck finding a replacement...cheap.

Well I successfully changed out my spark plugs. And while I had everything apart I was cleaning everything. (originally was going to have it steam cleaned but thought what they heck!) Without that engine cover it actually looks a lot nicer because the red is really vibrant and pops out nicely!

Hahaha, yes JaImsTa, The black part in front of manifold plenum. Maybe a GS has 5, but GT has 3 long screws, and thats it.

I broke mine too. I even followed what the service manual says about slowly prying it up off the intake manifold.

Oh well. It only broke a small piece so it looks okay on there right now. I'll be probably picking up the CF one or letting the engine be naked soon anyways.

Well, manual labor thats how, lol. I took a rag, kept wetting it, and rubbing down parts by hand, that way nothing was soaked, nothing can be damaged. cleaned battery with some baking soda and water, and the manifold I cleaned up with a little de-greaser.
