Interior Lights

Hey, just a few newbie questions. I have a 07 GS. I think previous owner did a few mods on the interior lighting and I'm trying to get back to stock. I didn't get an owners manual so the sticky on factory bulbs helped a lot. OrangeDemon had a good listing. (below)

2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Light Bulb Fitment Application List:

2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse High & low beam headlight uses H13 (9008) bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Tail light uses LED bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Stop light uses LED bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse High mount stop light uses LED bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Fog/Driving light uses H11 bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse License plate uses 168 bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Back up light uses 3156 bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Rear sidemarker uses 168 bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Glove box uses 74 bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Step/Courtesy light uses 74 bulb.
2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Trunk/Cargo area uses DE3022 bulb.

But I still have questions. Did our cars come with blue bulbs? I replaced the blue dome light with DE3175. Same wattage and it works fine. What do the map lights take? I have the autodim mirror. Also where are the step courtesy lights? Also the 74 bulbs I found at Autozone are TINY. Don't look like they would put out much light.
Thanks for any help,
Mike

Our cars come with halogen lights for all of the lighting sources sans the gauge cluster, HVAC, sound system, and shifter assembly. The map lights take T10 bulbs. There are no step courtesy lights that I know of; at least, I've never had them or seen any cars with them (but now I want to hunt them down if they exist). The only lights that I know of that come on as courtesy lights is the dome. The 74 bulbs are definitely tiny, but if you go LED then they will definitely light up a very good amount. Plus, the only 74 that I know we use on the interior is the glove box.

I have an 07 gt. I have the same mirror my map lights are 192L. I'm sure you can use 168,194 bulbs also in there. No the stock lights are white. I do not have step courtesy lights either. The 74's are not real bright but just get'em in white LEDs.

Thanks for the quick answers, guys. I went to the car and did more research. My map lights have to be 192, 194 etc. because there is that type socket, not T10 if I'm understanding what a T10 is. (Little cylinder with metal caps on each end) I guess the 10 is for how long it is. I also can't find floor courtesy lights. I can't even find the glove box light!! Could someone kinda explain where to find it.
Thanks again,
Mike

That's my mistake. I meant T-3 (194/168). I used LEDs for it, so they weren't going by the 194/168 sizing guide. Now, the glove box light, this one is a little more involved. You have to remove the glovebox first, so what you do is you open it up and unhook the string on the right side of the glove box. Once you do that, let it drop, then push up on the back until it pops out. Locate the 4 screws, then pull it out towards you and a little down. After that, you'll be able to see the little 74 bulb that's in there. Turn on the interior lights if you need to locate it easily. Plug it in, then reassemble.

If you're going to replace the bulbs, then why not replace them with super white LEDs? The halogens are shit for visibility, and there's just no reason not to, lol.

Here, check mind out with the super whites:

Screw eBay, lol. But you want a DE3022 for the dome light. Unless you're talking about the front dome lights that come with the non-sunroof version; in which case, I don't think they're the same size, but I'd have to look to see exactly which they are.

I don't know if they suck, I just always use superbrightleds.com, and I've never had a problem. Okay so the dome light right behind the sunroof takes a DE3022 festoon type bulb. The map lights within the auto-dimming rear view are T3-1/4 types. They replace 194/168 bulb sizes. I'm using the 5 LED pattern in my car, and let me tell you, they look like little fog lights when they're on. Tons of light.

my dome light and truck light are different sizes.... i got a 3022 from ddm tuning and it fit in the dome but not in the trunk... the truck looks to be a smaller festoon.

It fits, you just need to persuade it a little bit. By that, I mean bend the outer arm and dent in the edges of the festoon to make it fit.

is this because your 4G is an 06 and mine is an 09? I got that ize from superbrightleds and the same bulb fit in the trunk and dome. although I did have to bend the connectors in the trunk a little bit to make it fit. as long as tehre is a connection on the ends its fine, doesnt have to fit perfectly

Glad it all worked out I've always had that problem with the trunk DE3022 bulbs, so it's kind of par for the course.

NP. They're actually wedge types, like the bulbs in the rear view mirror (assuming you have the sunroof). If you've done every bulb, like you said, then you've come across the size before. It's the same as the glove compartment bulb.

Oh ok, yea I don't have the sunroof model, wish I did, but ok thanks, I think I have a good idea of what you are referring to.

There are actually a few writeups about the clock pod install floating around the forum. There's also one detailing how to take off the glovebox; which takes all of ten minutes if you're taking your time. Plus as Ant already showed you, it looks like this when it's all finished:

Check your connections, make sure it's nice and snug. Jiggle some wires if you need to....and be sure your ground is nice and tight.
