Mitsu is turning a lot like Chrysler. Meanwhile, the whole world is making 2 door sports cars with turbos. Then again, at least Chrysler TRIED to release a supercar

What they need a a nice cast iron block inline 6 with a high power turbo on it

Mitsu is out of the fast car world....no eclipse or evo. Might as well throw in the towel in the US market. If the s2000 is thy sexy(same as the nsx) why would anyone buy the nsx. S2000 will be a quarter the price and lighter. Boost the s2000 and you'll have a nsx equivalent

That's true but you're also dealing with a car in its teenage years and anyone with a teen can tell you they will always cause problems. Odds are if your find one for sale itll be in some rough shape (I should know I've looked)

This has always been a problem with all new cars that come to production. The first year models take the brunt of flaws the first-year they are produced. Just like the 2006 Eclipse had many problems when it was produced. Mistsu was great at backing up its product and fixed many problem without hiding those problems and standing by its product. Not all companies abide by these rules!!!

The S2000 does look like a nice car, just hope Honda will back their new vehicle like Mitsu did, they'll have a great car if they do!!

Yeah S2000s are great cars still, the problem is the mileage. Specifically how hard are the miles on any you can find. Most of the ones I've seen are beat to hell.

As far a new S2000 goes. Performance-wise It would push the Toyobaru 86 almost into obsolescence. The new MX-5 is a better car than the 86 all around with the exception of seating. A cracked out, hardcore, higher price MX-5 that is known as an S2000 will take performance minded buyers away from the 86. The only thing the 86 will have going for it if an s2000 comes out is the back seats. If you need back seats, 200hp, affordable AND lightweight people would be better off with a civic SI/fiesta/focus than an 86. This could be good though as Toyota will have to step it up a la Supra/Z5 to meet/beat the S2000 and a turbo 86 option to meet/beat the MX-5.

Plain Jane is a jewel in the roughPlain Jane is a jewel in the rough
I hope it won't have similar running gear as the "NSX". Some people don't want a twin turbo torque vectoring hybrid 9-speed dual clutch technomess. Some just want Honda to go back to their roots and make an honest, affordable, lightweight naturally aspirated RWD sports car with a proper manual gearbox that's both pleasurable and rewarding to drive.

I don't like the new NSX because it spits in the face of it's own heritage.
