Upgrade to Aluminum Fuel door

Hello, I just thought I would make this guide to make things a bit easier for everyone deciding if they should upgrade (in my opinion) over to the aluminum fuel door. Its very easy.

First thing, yes it is the same size as your painted one and will fit in the hole perfectly.

You will need:
  • A 10mm socket (with extension)
  • The Aluminum fuel door with plastic housing (you cant use the same one)
  • like 10 minutes of time

Remove the gas cap, and then take out the three 10mm bolts around the neck. Mine were in pretty tight.

After that all you do is pull in the direction of the arrows.

The rest is pretty straight forward, just put the new assembly in the way you took the old one out. Have the plastic housing attached onto the aluminum fuel door (with the allen wrench screws) before you put it in. It will make it alot easier.

Well done Jed and wttc!

I must warn people though to be EXTREMELY careful when removing the bolts though. If you drop one in your gas tank..............

I've always stuffed the hole (giggity) with some shop towels to make sure that doesn't happen - pro tip for the day
