Modded 09 GT

I was talking to my friend and colleague at work today and his stepfather owns a machine shop. When my friend was a teenager his step dad would mod his cars for him. Anyway his cousin is a HVAC engineer. He had purchased a 09 with a 3.8. So they modded the head and internals, manifold, intake and fuel intake but left the lower part of the engine stock. Through on a turbo and rewired everything and added a programmable inboard computer. That's cool he can monitor everything on the car with his laptop and even do adjustments.
On the Dyno he got.
At 6lb boost he got 350hp
At 9lb the hp was 400
He then drove the car around for a month and blew a piston.
Their plans are now to build the bottom half an leave it at 9lb boost.
they want to try 14lb boost. A 14lb boost will double hp.
His Step father has been building cars for years and feels he can get 600hp out of the engine.

I say thats really cool. All labor was free and all machine cost was free. the setup cost him almost $6,000.
I think that's really funny.

My was of saying thats great. Every weekend and nights went into their project. He had to drill out the fire wall for wires and who knows. Just thinking about it would make my back hurt. I asked my friend why woul he do it to a FWD car. Why not a EVO or a AWD,RWD car. My friend said because he loved the way the eclipse looks

I don't really know them but I would say that everything is custom made. They do have their own privet machine shop and all the time to play with everything

I'll see what my friend can get a picture of. I belive him from stories he has told me from the past on what his step dad used to do to his cars.
