^you really want some man? have you seen dejected's 'blew motor' thread? that's where a lot of this was discussed. there was also a 'piston sale' thread but I think it's closed and the sale is no longer on.

BUT Timmy or dejected can give you the # of the guy who made these for us. Russ/Ross I can't believe I don't even know. I've just let timmy take care of the details for us. I know he got a discount for being a selfless badass calling from iraq, but i don't see the guy just giving that deal out to anyone...

timmy will see this tomorrow and PM you the # or dejected will see it sooner or later. Or let me know if you don't hear anything randy and I'll ask tim directly next time I chat with him.

yeah man I am so stoked, it's gonna be insane if I ever actually can get the rest of the parts and get it built - but dejected and timmy will probably be done way before me.

rangertimmy is a jewel in the roughrangertimmy is a jewel in the rough
they are made by ross racing pistons. 310-536-0100, or just visit their website. if you call, ask for Ian. they now have data for two types on our gt's. a dished 8.5:1 comp (dejectedangle) and a flat-top 10:1 comp (pictured in this thread). they are a .040 overbore, but basically, if your going to replace pistons, a rebore should be done. that bore will put us at a 4 liter (reference dejecteds thread as he has already done this)

i recommend the flat top. as i spoke with Ian at Ross wanting to retain the HP we achieve with our high compression but help eliminate detonation, after some research and discussion, this is what he came back to me with. around 1100 dollars a set. expensive, but extremely high quality. i have seen JE, APR, other import replacement pistons. no comparison. these guys dont mass produce for our market like the honda hugger companies. they make only high performance racing products.

if you are doing an all motor you really dont hvae a need for pistons unless you want to up your compression or go a crazy cam and need valve releif cut into the piston heads

Yeah all motor for now. But i figured while i was doing the heads i may as well do the whole top end if i plan on spraying in the future.
