stiffy + strut tower bar - will it fit?

Guys,
i installed the Stiffy lately, and fucked up a few things (dont ask how)...
anyway, i'd feel better if i removed by stock strut bat (GT) and replace it with the Tanabe one from RRE (unless you know of a better deal)...

i'm worried that once both the Stiffy and strut bar are in place, the strut bolt on to which both are attached might not have enough threads to be safe...

i did a quick search, it looks like some members here have both... any comments on fitments / issues will be appreciated !

Thanks !

Pat

I have 2 tower bars (1 is stock the other is the tanabe) and the stiffy in there. all fits fine to me. not sure if you would say it has enough threads to be safe but if you look at my members' ride thread on page 3 or 4 you can see where it is all installed in there...

No disrespect intended here but just to be clear that bolt is not actually holding the suspension together. When on the ground the weight of the car actually is what actually keeps everything together there. That bolt is more for when the car is elevated and there is no weight on the strut

you know man, I am taking those bars off once a week it seems. They must be removed to take out the battery which I remove to examine wires and everything down in there and the wires going through my firewall, and also my fuel line it seems like I am always checking, too - since I cut into it to 'T" some fuel into the supplementals I was running before, but no longer, I am paranoid about that leaking and am always checking it. Those bars also have to come off if I want to tighten any of the bolts back there - usually the rear headers and EGR valve.

but yes - you're right. If I ever get it to where everything is done, clean, running like a champ, and I don't think I'll need back there for at least six months - I will bust out the lock-tight. good call man.

shit, I was just shorting out today and my car kept having to have the negative cable taken off and put back on so it would restart. so I just now took those bars off and went back down in there again. pain in the ass.

good point sir , but at the same time i dont need one bolt getting loose and just flying off in my engine bay ... i fucked up enough shit in there

i just ordered the strut bar from Lydia (RRE) today

i blew up one of the bolts holding up the stock bar when installing the Stiffy so i thought the Tanabe one would bring so much-needed reinforcement in there... i'm scared to drive hard since it happened... hopefully in a week or so i'll be back to screaming tires mode !! and my windshield starting cracking right in the middle, from the bottom... not sure if the little extra flex created that, or a rock i didnt see...
