Instant performance - I want nos
Ok so on a stock Gt what kinda shots can we run?
Whats the average cost of a decent setup What mandatory upgrades are required I really dont know much about our engines ive been a 4g63 guy for a long time this is the first time i've gone away from 4 banger turbos. |

First of all, you should try to use the search function.
Second, ZEX and NX Express makes general kits for our cars. I think the most anyone is running without building the internals is like 75 shot of wet. I don't know anyone that has tapped the block and runs direct port injection. I think after all is said and done with the ZEX kit I was looking at spending close to 800 bucks for the purge valves, blow down tubes, and the kit with a 10lb bottle. I would recommend PM'in one of the guys that actually runs nitrous on the v6 before actually doing it. I've been told tapping the fuel line and everything for the wet kit can sometimes become a huge pain the ass. Best of luck to ya.

i would really only trust a 55 shot without having to build any. and your gonna need the basic bolt ons to run that I/H/E. and you will also need one step colder plugs made by NGK and look for Irridium. once you start messing with the pistons and cams and all that fun stuff i think someone on here ran 100? or 125? i cant remember but he built the shit out of it. so. and like he said ZEX or NX and i got a kit for 460 but it was used .

Second you really shouldn't spray a totally stock car, you should have basic supporting mods like IHE. But if I had to guess on a totally stock car I would go no more than say 50. With boltons a few guys have run 100 shot just fine. You can get a set up for about what ever you want to spend. From 300 for a dry kit(avoid this) to 1000 for a great wet kit. I woukd shoot for 6-700. |

sounds about right. and i didnt realize your in a GT. im in a GS so im assuming your engines will handle alot more than mine would. but yeah i wouldnt even try a totally stock car. thats asking for something to go wrong

i was looking into it, im a gs not a gt, but i still came across a Zex wet kit that runs for $615. I wouldnt run it stock but i know keith is running a 75-90 maybe even a 100 shot with cold air, headers, pulley, res delete and a magnaflow exhaust.
i personally would not run any higher than a 75 and i have a sri, pulley, res delete and magnaflow exhaust. especially without a tune or possibly headers.

xxshot = xx hp. 55 shot is 55hp 75 is 75hp. etc etc. but its in controlled bursts. so. its not like its always there. i dont have the kit yet im waiting for the member to ship it but. as of now all i have are headers and a pulley. i gotta build it up before i can make anything worth while outta it anyway

GS will handle a 100 shot I think one of the GT guys ran 100 but most of them run 75

I think it also depends how much times you are going to use it like if ur going to spray everyday I'd do a 55 but if you only use it for racing I'd do 75

No it didn't melt the piston's you are talking about two completely different beasts when you are talking Nitrous, and Charging Nitrous is overall a lot less stress on the engine

For a split second during spray However the inlet air helps to cool it plus the fact that OEM we have one step colder plugs, if you go one more step on top of that. Also take into account that a 100 shot is equivalent to 10lbs of boost. However puts a lot less strain on the motor than 10 lbs of boost from a charger. Its only during the seconds you spray and your not slapping your piston's around all day every day going in and out of boost while Daily Driving. So with that in mind It is a lot less stressful on the engine, and chances that your going to melt a piston on spray are nil compared to running on the S/D/S
There are quite a few 4g69's running 100 in the RA community on stock internal's with no problem's to date, and they have had the engine a couple more years than we have. They are also running in the low and I mean low 13's to high 12's with it. Hell they are in the 13.5 range just with 75
