New Product by RPW - New Diff Ratio's Guaging Interest
We are looking to being a small production run of new Crown Wheel / Pinion gears for the Mitsubishi 3G/4G and Australian Magna / Diamante Gearboxes (5 speed manuels)
This started as i found with my 3.5 V6 Twin Turbo Magna, I have so much torque that I can dramatically improve my fuel economy by dropping the gear ratios. This was even more noticeable when you realise that the Auto models are running around 750rpm lower for the same given speed compared to a manuel. My aim is to drop the rpm's by around 300rpm for hte same given speed. To give some examples, our Mitsubishi Magna / 3g V6 boxes all run the same ratio of 3.7XX. Funny enough our Mitsubish 380 Vehicles in Australia run a 4.1XX ratio for a larger motor? I am planning on making some 3.5XX ratio units. This would be perfect for the 3G guys doing the 6G75 motor conversion with all that extra torque but want to retain the stronger 5 speed box. So my question is this - is there sufficient interest from the 4G forum to make this. I have ot make them in batches of 5 at a time, so we would need deposits in advance for each batch of five. I am not sure whether your 6G75 mivec boxes come in a 5 speed as well as the 6 speed. Or whether people are converting back to the 5 speed box. Cost is around $1800.00 AUD$ per gear set, to be finalised of course along with the gear ratios. If people want different ratios we can do that at no extra cost, remembering that they have to be made in a batches of 5 at a time. I am going to get one set made, just for my car as a test mule, but it is something that could be a popular upgrade. So who would be intersted and more importantly be prepared to put some money down on something like this?

I would like to see the outcome of these. subscribed!! I can't vouch for everyone else, but $1800 isn't quite easy to come by. gonna take some time for this to go through.

Hey! How much for a 5 speed transmission built from you guys? We don't get the 5 speed box on our 6g75, only 6 speed.
How hard would it be for you guys to do new gears for the 6 speed?

^yes. I would probably spend $1800 for new gears - but it would have to include the sixth.

I would def spend the money for better ratio gears for the 6 speed.
Would they be spur cut or helical?
