Bad News = Good News Need Some Help
Well it looks like one the the cats on my car is coming apart. Good news is that it will allow me to have a good reason to install headers.
Have you guys had the car throw codes after you installed headers? I would like to install a FIC but I have blown my play money on other things. How many people have done headers without a FIC? Is there anything I need to know before going with headers? Thanks |

you can certainly do headers w/ no F/IC.
I ran long tubes for a year and threw no codes and only just recently installed the F/IC - THEN started throwing codes.....hehe

^oh you'll gain 15 - 20 at the wheels if you have a CAI also - but you'll need to upgrade your exhaust/muffler, as well....no point in putting headers on if you're just going to choke them out w/ a stock muffler.
it's hard for me to remember how the car was before headers but it certainly feels/sounds a lot tougher. put on long tubes to a good 2.5 - 3" exhaust and you'll know it

Stock cover painted with this.
Dupli-Color :: Metalcast To prep I used Simple Green and water with a Scotch Bright red pad. It scuffs the surface so the paint will stick. Sprayed with their base coat, silver. Masked off silver areas painted red. Used a brush and had painted the black. Looks better in person, matches the K&N pretty good. |
