nope. go buy a GT traitor.
im kidding but in all seriousness youd end up paying more to do the engine swap than you would to just buy a GT. and what would you have to show for it? you could get a GT shave the logo off and put some stock GS rims on it for cheaper if you wanna do that lol |

no. just no.
and.. does 100hp sound like a big difference? yes? ok. it is. im sorry if some of us seem like assholes to the new guys. but please just hang around and read for a while. you'd be able to answer your own question soon enough.

It's not just an engine swap... you also have to change a bunch of electronics as well as the tranny... Christ, it be cheaper to install a super charger or custom turbo setup.
If I remember correctly, one of our members blew his engine and the used engine alone was $4000.00, now add a tranny, and a bunch of electrical equipment that needs to swapped out and your up to 8/9,000, throw in some labor Hell, just by a used 2007-2008 GT for 17,000 or under. Get the point!!

Send that 2 grand to us...we'll show you what to do with it
WWTC!...and don't think you would be satisfied with having the stock 6-cyl for long either.

You know, not only does the V6 offer us more power, but also ALOT more weight. It's like installing a sail boat anchor on the front end of your car.
It really depends though what you wanna do with your car. Yes, us V6 guys might have more power, but at the same time you line us up against the I4 on a track and we might get our tails handed to us around the twisties. I know for a fact when I went to Mullholland with the SoCal4G guys that I was getting mine handed to me by the 4 cyl guys because I had so much weight in the front end that no matter what I would start to skid if I turned it too hard and powered it. SoCalChino can attest to this... Now if you want a beast on the highway and on the drag strip, then the V6 with nitrous or some kind of forced induction is one way to go. I think RIPP has video of a 400+ whp stage 2 kit... |

But if I was going to do an engine swap for $10,000+, I'd be looking at a V8 rear-wheel drive. I really think that would be easer, but you'd have to mod to a pre-computer type setup, and how many of use would miss a ECU !!

if youve got $2k waiting to be spent. that'll get you pretty far into a supercharger or turbo. but. you cant just throw those on without doing some "prep" work.
i know this isnt what you want to hear. but you'd be best off spending that money on opening up the exhaust first. then save up for whatever forced induction you want (if thats the way you want to go). if not. youve got enough to do exhaust. intake. and headers if you play your cards right. that'll give you some nice gains.

if your set in stone about turboing dont waste the money on headers man. your just going to have to throw those and your CAI out for a turbo.
not trying to tell you what you should and shouldnt do to your own car but your gonna end up needing a turbo manifold (takes place of headers) and the turbo itself will end up being your air intake. so. |

do research. I have a cai sitting here that I now use as an amusement park for my dragon because I don't need an intake with the supercharger

lol yea but dax makes it sound easy...its gunna still be about 4-6k to build a decent kit...invest in suspension and if you want a little more power go spray...but honestly dont expect to be mad jdm fast with a turbo....you'll be able to beat civics and scion tCs....not much else

Yeah. Kevins pretty much dead on. Turbos are awesome but pricey. Spray is fun but only temporary. Either way modding is fantastic and we will encourage you whichever path you go but turbos are alot of work and really expensive for a car that honestly isnt the fastest out there. but. if you love the car and working under the hood by all means

no your not limited to those.. haha i only have RRE headers and a RRE pulley and i tore a v6 mustang up. civics are like a midnight snack for a 4 banger. honestly what i recommend if you want to be a BA 24/7 is either a turbo or full bolt on and a beastly tune.

its pretty limited you wont be able to take many cars out there i/e genesis 3.8, z's, g's, evo's, sti's, s2ks ect things in that class....
remember you'd be boosting a pretty grocery getter.....but to answer you're question bluntly....NA build will give you little more power but dont expect to break more than 200, spray will let you take on some other cars, and so will boost...but those take alot of know how and money...nothing will make you "quick" period. have fun with it, it sounds like you're young so just build a tasteful well rounded car with some nice suspension, styling and some bolt ons. you'll be good to go.
