By true duals you mean one off each bank of the motorr right? Or from the Y pipe split it and have duals run only the front axel back

Agreed search is needed regardless but a lot of people have different qualifications on true duals. Especially on a horizontally opposed V-configuration motor. IMO true duals on this car is useless go with a setup similar to mine and you'll be fine.

I've only really seen one eclipse with "true" duals. He said it kind of sounded like a boat at idle... Let me see if I can find that old thread, it was a long time ago.

On another note. I don't see any power gains from a true dual on this car, but you can't go wrong with a y-pipe, looks good, sound great!

I couldn't find it. I can't remember what the title was, but I'm thinking it didn't have anything to do with exhaust in it.

I have "fake" duals but it sounds awesome. Has a slight audible lope at idle. Really an impressive sound . My guy said that on this car the weight and cost of true duels would far out weight any gains

Theres different meanings of a true dual (automotive related)? Thought it was pretty much set in stone. Like CAI, Headers, lowering springs.

No true duals by definition is from the headers back, two separate pipes. My "fake" setup is a single exhaust pipe from the Y pipe to just before the rear axel where it splits into a "dual exit exhaust". Least that's always been my understanding

that is correct, i was clarifying because you said other peoppe have qualifications of it. when theres either true dual or just a dual exhaust (split by y pipe)
its either true or not.

anyways
no purpose of a true dual. if you have the extra dough to toss away then donate it instead of wasting it
