brake problem?

so basically when its cold in the morning, or if the car is sitting for 3-4 hours, when i start it and reverse it, and brake it, it makes a LOUD noise. it is not a minor squeal or i wouldn't be complaining. I showed this to like 4-5 places, but whenever im there it doesnt make the noise -___- and they check the brakes n say everythings fine.. remember that it only comes when i brake, and only when in reverse. when accelerating and backing out it is perfect. any ideas?

What pads and rotors are you using because the more aggressive the rotor/pad the more shrilly it is.
It doesn't happen at all forward?

Brakes Squeal in Reverse only - Nissanhelp.com Forums

Park your car in gear without the parking brake. Could be freezing up.

just a hunch but maybe its the early morning frost on the brakes. mine have a rust film and my stopping power is like BAM for the first stop of the day. but after the pads rub the rotor one full turn my braking is normal. not chirps. and no like tap on the brake and getting whiplash

Is it like a loud groan when you first stop, kind of like our famous brake squeal just louder?

Do you use your parking brake most of the time? E-brake might not be releasing until you move.

Depending on what brake setup you have... some high performance brake pads have to heat-up before they become optimal.

If it is only happening when you first start your can and start rolling and then the problem goes away after the first mile or so, more then likely it's just your pads. Nothing you can do except change out to a higher quality pads and break them in properly. When I first installed my new brake system, when I backed up it made a really loud groan the first couple times; however after I broke the brakes in properly I haven't had a problem since.

Also when you installed your new rotors and pads, did you break them in correctly? This is normally done by driving your car at a low speed (<30 mph)and making several slow stops (5/6 stops), then stopping your car and letting your brakes cool for about an hour, then repeating the process. Then do the same at a higher speed (<50 mph) at least once. From there take it easy on the brakes for the first 500 miles, no hard braking. This conditions the rotors from hot-spots/warping and the brake pads so they will operate and last longer, and hopefully prevents your brakes from squealing.

Our OEM pads are notorious for squealing, that's why most of us at the very least upgrade to better, higher quality, pads. Some of us upgrade to high quality rotors and pads, 6/7 hundred, or better yet, go with a big brake system $$$$. When it comes to brakes... you get what you pay for.

Another thing you can try. Disassemble your brakes, use a very fine wet & dry sand paper and resurface the rotors by scuffing the surface, light sanding, this will get rid of any surface contaminants, then clean the rotors with some brake cleaner. Do the same with the pads, just enough to get rid of any surface contaminants. Re-assemble and break-in the rotors and pads properly.

Getting Brembos won't fix it if it is your parking brake. The parking brake is actually a very small drum brake independent from the disc brakes.
