so, just picked up the new baby....ideas?

pics up tommorrow, 50k miles, 2006 eclipse gt. Has a fujita ram air intake, intercooler?, some kind of exhaust (sounds like a borla), xenon white lights, um...toyo black/chrome split rims wrapped in new toyos, air pressure/fuel gauge, hooking up the subs and new jl audio tommorrow all around, xm radio in the dash installed, and of course it's a 6spd manuel.

The car is awesome, love it so far. HOWEVER.....i'd like some advice in what to do with the car for performance (id get a shop to do the work, i'm young and tend to break things.). Also, i buy my shit, got off a 6 month tour and currently go to college, so budget is always a big deal.

Appreciate any help, like i said, pictures will be up tommorrow!

thanks

its not an intercooler.

its either a short ram, or cold air intake.

Here are a few of our vendors that support our site, they have just about every performance mod that can be put on our cars. But if someone spent all that money to put an intercooler on his car just for looks... well then we'll find him and beat him with a big ugly stick !! More then likely what you are looking at is the AC condenser which is a rock magnet and cost about $500 to replace/fix your AC system, so if you live on a dirt road, your first mod should be a lower grill insert to protect your condenser.

Welcome not to be a dick but you obviously have a lot to learn. By all means search, search, search and if you still can't find the answer then make a post. We can be fairly merciless but if you approch it right some of use are very knowledgeable and can be helpful.
Wttc.

Lower for sure and tint, that's a must. Get some pics up so we can see what were working with

That's the worst idea ever, that would kill your intake velocity and throttle response

thats stupid.

a naturally aspirated motor doesnt move enough air to make an intercooler useful...

unless of course, you have a crazy mad bad ass honduh!!!!

WELL been a while since i hit this forum. Um, going 40 on the highway the other weekend spun out hit a mailbox, now have a nice little dent in the passanger door.....one of the craziest weekends in a long time. Installed a new set of hids today, secured the ballasts and grounds fine, took about half an hour. Windows tinted, got all this bs blue tape off the silver parts in the interior. NEW AUDIO-rockford fosgate power speaks and amp, orion xtr amp and subs, took 3 hours to wire. New kenwood head unit. Installed a air pressure to fuel ratio gauge.

TO DO:

lower

carbon fiber hood

hacksaw the ram air intake and make it a short intake (i'll show it in pics)

darker tint (has factory tint)

NEEDS MORE POWER! (ideas are welcome)

appreciate all the posts so far, sorry ive been so late responding, but my phone, laptop, car keys, everything got stolen when i passed out at cmu.

pics up TOMMORROW (including dent >_<)

In no specific order.

Eibach Prokit springs or coilovers - Road Race Engineering

Ralliart hood - Autocityimports or AutokitsX

Intake - AEM, Fujita, or Injen - Road Race Engineering or Autocityimports

Have fun with tint, just cosmetic...low on my list....

Headers - Shorties come from Road Race Engineering
Headers - Long tubes come from either RIPP or OBX
Read the forums about the difference, don't feel like explaining the whole thing here.

Exhaust - Magnaflow from Road Race Engineering or go to a local shop and have them do a custom job with a nice muffler and no cats.

Retune - AEM FIC with BrianJ's harness from Road Race Engineering
Retune - Hackish does ECU reflashes for a price.

Energy Suspension Motor Mount bushings - Road Race Engineering

Ingalls "stiffy" engine torque dampener.

Thermal block spacers.

Dyno with FIC/reflash

After basic bolt ons you'll be about 300whp.

You have a couple routes from here.

Supercharging - RIPP makes a kit.

Turbocharging - RRE has a full custom Rear mounted turbo race car.

Giggle Gas aka Nitrous Oxide - ZEX, NX Express, NOS all make kits that fit our car. Just make sure you get the kit meant for Fuel Injected 6 cyl and make sure it's a WET kit. If you feel like tapping the block/head go with direct port.

There's tons of ways to make more power. Just depends mainly on your budget. Look at Horse Eater. He's TT on his GT. JoeyB is Supercharged and is a great resource also. Airman aka Glenn is a great resource when it comes to giggle gas.

Man everyone thinks there is some magical difference in are headers. the only real difference is that shorties are good for street racing an drag racing the long tubes are good for track an shorties are a hell of a lot less work not easy just easier. So OP unless you are going for noise or your planing on a track or occasionally tracking go with RRE there a grate company an realy support use. An people will tell you about exhaust size an it is pretty much the same 2.5 is like the ST headers an 3 is like the headers. I know you didn't want to explain Deprydation so this is not at you all though what you sead about not explaining brought it up. An now I know why you didn't want to lol. Just tired of every one saying there the same or one is better then the other for what ever reason except It all depends on what you are looking to do.
