What do you all think of these Filters
Filters - Pure Power!® Lifetime Oil Filter for Autos/Light Trucks - PurePower!, Inc. (gopurepower.com)
So was reading thru my import tuner and super street mags and saw these metal oil filters. went to their site and saw they sell a Mitsubishi filter..they dont show specifics like threading...do most mitsus have same threading? But another question is...what do you all think of these? reusable, stating it removes even 30 micron and smaller particles, high psi protection and flow rate.... For 220.00 upfront thats probably average for alot of ppl who do extended oil changes: If you keep your eclipes and put on roughly 200,000 miles... Do an oil change every 4000 miles. and spend $5 dollars per filter.. So spending roughly 250.00 on filters in the lifetime of the car... So not a big different in average money spent. Personally I do an oil change every 3000, alot of stop and go traffic, and spend roughly 6 on the filters over cost me roughly $400.00, so personaly it would be cheaper..but the big question is are they good filters I dunno, I searched and didnt see anyone bringing up this filter so thought Id share and see what your guys opinon on these are.

No way in hell I can justify spending 220 bucks on an oil filter. I couldn't stand it if something were to happen and damage the thing. Then what? Instead of changing a 6-7 dollar filter you're down the shitter for 220 bucks. I just can't fathom doing regular maintenance on my oil filter either.
I think the idea is great, but the execution of it could be alot better. |

PurePower: THE TRUTH ABOUT MOTOR OILS AND OIL FILTERS... a must read! (UPDATES) - Writer's Corner: General Non-Fiction - Epinions.com I'd only get it if it was tried and true by my fellow clipsers. lmk if anyone gets one and it works |

How about a cheap throw-away filter that filters out 20 microns and larger, 99.9% partical removal. And if you are into getting more particals out, you can buy reusable magnets that fit on the outside of your oil filter.
PureONE Oil Filters Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filters FAQs Think about how easy it is to clean a greasy, oily, frying pan; now squash that frying pan into a tin can and try cleaning it. Do you really want to stick your hands in that pan with all that oil floating around, then rinsing, and splashing all that water over yourself with a garden hose. And what about drying time for the filter before re-installing the filter. And remember, where are you going to put that waste water... Hmmm, I guess that's were the word GREEN comes from!! Now if I had a fleet of cars and a facility to clean a 100 filters and I used fosil oil, well it might be worth it. I mean a CAI Filter is enough fun to clean and all of its sufaces are easly accessed and easly dried, and doing it correctly takes me 24 hours to clean, dry, oil, and blot. $219 / by $8 filter = about 27 oil filters x 3000 miles = 81,000 miles, or x 5000 miles, = 135,000 miles, or as recommended x 7000 miles = 189,000 miles. = Pureone Oil Filters = Throw it away, or > One hour to clean and who knows how long to dry, = to or < then one hour to change oil, or > then two-hours + to change oil. LOL, That all sounds messed up doesn't it, LOL!! Pureone Oil Filter or like, would be much easer and save time and a big mess, if you want GREEN, go electric !!
