weird angles but the first picture is comparison of regular spacer, 2nd is front header and 3rd is rear header with spacers.

Unless I've missed something or somebody simply hasn't shared their info of a similar setup, I think you are the first to be running with something like this. If you continue to run code free, this may be a possible option to those who are still experiencing O2 codes.

Rep for the pics.

*these are available thru RRE if anyone wants to try to get their hands on some

You won't pass emissions with RRE headers anyways. They eliminate the pre-cats and you'll actually be close to gross polluter if you try to get on the machine without pre cats.

What's up with everyone getting O2 codes with headers?? I've been running code-free for four-years!!

That spacer looks way to long and your O2's will run to cold. Take your car on a long run 200+ miles and see if you don't pop a code. Another thing I don't like about those extenders, if they aren't positioned correctly (i.e. the O2 sensor needs to be at a 45* upward angle), then on short runs you will get condensation that will collect at the sensor if at the wrong angle.

Also with spacers, and depending what code you get is how you fix your spacer. If the O2 is running cold, then you just need to open the hole a little at the end of the spacer and the problem is fixed. If it is reading to high you need to pull the O2 out of the exhaust stream. Also if you didn't build your harness correctly you will always get a code.

I am getting codes....low voltage. I have tried the ebay spacers (which worked the best about 3-4 days, then would set but clear themselves), RRE spacers (not good), and combinations of both....still codes. I now have the spark plug defowlers which JoeyB recommended but have yet to try them because I can't get one of the darn RRE spacers off. If this works...I'll sure jump on the bandwagon I have an FIC and waiting on the harness.....going to fix this one way or the other...prefer not to use up my inputs on the FIC if possible though.

^yeah, I echo John on this one. I throw all kinds of codes b/c of my blower, etc. but when I was running just I/H/E I never ever threw codes. I just used the 18 mm spark plug defoulers for spacers and boom - no codes. ran clean like a virgins' honeypot.

oh man Don you're going to have a beast once you advance the timing and get those internals in there. are you thinking NOS?

I like the idea of the l-shape though.....wish we didn't need them and this wasn't such a problem. but the defoulers worked for me, is all I can testify

Running the traditional spacer setup I am code free about 80% of the time.
Code is thrown due to variance in temp/engine load.

So then what is it if I am getting p0431, it just says Cat below threshold. And what is weird the 1st sensor with just a spacer is fine and never had a code, but this 2nd one always trips this once the car warms up and you give it some gas. Going to try to move it away with 2 spacers on top of each other.

Only in CA none of the other states test as stringent as CA

Long overdue. How are these spacers? Any conclusion's? Should have been a decent amount of time for testing. Need to get rid of mine.

I have read that you could use the FIC to filter the output of either the front or rear sensors to either boost or retard the voltage to get rid of codes.

As far as RRE spacers ...the old ones did nothing either by themselves or stacked and I just had to pay to have one of them cut off my cat...to get it to seal I torqued it down and then when I tried to remove it wouldn't budge. I had to cut it out with a torch and weld new bung in.

I tried the big spacers from Ebay, RRE spacers, and the spark plug defowlers and every combination of stacking I could come up with....none of them worked.

I am running OBX long tubes with a racing cat.

This is a moot point for me now. I had a custom pre-axle dual exhaust fabricated and while it was at the shop I had them add a "real" cat that I can swap out with the racing cat. For the first time since I put on the headers I am header-related code free. I do now have a "running lean on bank one" code now but I can pass inspection with one code so I am going for it.

If anyone has a suggestion about the "running lean on bank one" code...please send me a PM.

...P.S. JoeyB....You missed out on the steak dinner for fixing my codes but I'll still buy you a hamburger for trying

^ well I tried. and yeah, seems the best way would be to learn to use the F/IC to control the o2 signal voltage - bias it as it says in the manual
