Magna Flow

Had a question on exhaust. I want to get a nice clean sound and get rid of that restrictive stock muffler, but i dont have the funds to get a full set up over here in Canada, nor is it cheap to do so. Wondering if you can get just the muffler from magna flow for our set up? Or do you have to go universal if your not at least getting a cat back set up? I really wanna get this muffler off, and id love to buy some of the set ups people have for sale here but im very unsure as to how anything but a magna flow would sound, as thats what i had on my 3G. I suppose im asking whats the cheapest way to get a good sound and a better flow and ditch this stock muffler.

buy a used Magnaflow muffler here, or get a new one from RRE. it comes with the right flange for the GS...
or get a universal muffler, cut the flange off your stock muffler and use it to connect the new one...

Im thinking of getting this you guys, and mainting my stock piping...what do you think? Will it cut performance, or just offer more flow and a nice sound?

Also is the tip on this long enough in comparison to the stock tip?

IMHO you can't go wrong with MagnaFlow. That said, here's some food for thought...

The RRE Axle Back is $210 and will bolt right up without issue in a matter of minutes. This will allow you to keep your stock exhaust intact, which you can save or sell. And you will not have to mess around with taking your car to a shop to get it installed. In addition RRE shipping is reasonable. They shipped me the RRE duals from CA to IN for about $30. So let's say shipping is $20. That's a $90 difference before having the 14814 welded.

BTW, the stock cans are not cheap, I think they're somewhere in the neighborhood of $270.

Hey there thanks for the input. I emailed RRE about shipping earlier today and waiting on it to be weighed and that they said. However like you said their price is $210, PLUS shipping which will be Canada, including customs. So im willing to bet the set up from RRE will cost ~300 bucks at least. It is beneficial that its a direct bolt on, but my flange already split from the stock muffler, and rather than getting a new one I just removed both flanges and extended the pipe and welded it together. This being said no matter what I will have to reweld. So the price of 140 for that Magnaflow which will be ~160 after tax, with free shipping, will be the only costs incurred, and will be half the price of getting an RRE set up... :-/

Just realized our exhaust is offset in/center out. So im going with this set up instead.

Magnaflow Polished Stainless Oval Body Muffler 14225 | MagnaflowStop
+
Magnaflow Stainless Steel Double Wall Tip 35127 | MagnaflowStop

I know this is insane to pay 50 for the tip, but it works out the same as getting a tipped universal, and i can get the offset in for easier install. I know ya can get cheaper tips made by whoever, by i want the magnaflow logo on it

Yeah, I completely forgot to factor shipping to Canada. 50% is a big difference. Putting price aside, you'll love the exhaust note of the MaganFlow. You may even see a small improvement in your gas mileage.
