Hi everybody,
I found something that I thought some of you would be interested to know, if you want to install HKS SLD and want to see your real speed, you can buy a GPS Speedometer for less than 300$. If you want you can replace your car's speedometer or you can buy a mounting cup to mount it on dash. SpeedHut has many Speedometer in mph or kph, depending on your preference. I would suggest a 260 kph speedometer or 160 mph. I am about to buy many mods and the HKS SLD is definitly in my mind, I'll first see if it works and see what happen with my car's speedometer. I heard it just won't go higher than 180 kph (113 mph), but someone already tried an older SLD and said his speedometer was totally wrong. I'll see if I can get higher than 180 kph or 220 kph (113mph or 135 mph) on my original speedometer and then I'll probably buy the GPS Speedometer if I encounter any problems with the car's speedometer. I will just not buy the GPS Speedometer if the HKS SLD don't work or if I can go higher than 220 kph on the car's speedometer, I don't have money to waste... My car is a 2006 Eclipse GT with only a Injen CAI for now. Here is a list of Mods that I am currently buying, it should all be installed by May 20th : RRE Headers, Energy Motor Mounts & Suspension Bushings, Injen CatBack, BC Coilovers BR Series, Tanabe Front Strut Tower Bar, Tanabe Front Under Brace, RRE-Progress Adjustable Rear Sway Bar, ThermoBlok Spacer Kit, TWM Short Shifter Kit (4 cyl.) w/ Shifter Base Bushings, Ingalls Stiffy Torque Damper, Pulstar Iridium Pulse Plugs and the HKS SLD I am not sure I posted it in the right section... orrrr you can get a nice garmin gps like mine (nuvi 255w) and use that as an accurate speedometer. to me its very very accurate and has more functionality than just a speedometer

And for your info, a real GPS Speedometer have a refresh rate of 5 Hz, I think it is pretty good. Last edited by Samud; March 25th, 2011 at 09:12 PM. |

Ok, because if I decide to buy the GPS Speedometer, it will be with a needle and can get stats like 1/4 mile time and 0-100 kmh time and many other things.
And just to know, what is the refresh rate of your GPS? Last edited by Samud; March 26th, 2011 at 12:52 AM. |

I have another question. On many parts of the german autobahn we don't have a Speed Limit. But my MT GT is limited at 250 kph. How can i remove this limiter and how fast will the Car go?

wow your eclipse is limited to 250 kmh... nice, but never heard someone with a limit that high, I would like to have some proof... And if it's true, find yourself lucky, everybody here is limited to 220 kmh

???????
LOL, If my speedo says I'm going a 130mph, does it really matter if I'm actually going 127mph or a 134mph... any of those speeds will get you thrown in jail!! As far as accuracy goes, as long as I'm accurate within 1mph at 75mph who cares. But there are better products out there, if you are going to spend $300, go big or stay at home and get youself a DashDAQ... It can do everything!! Data tracking for up to 25 parameters, gauges galore or add external gauges (AFR, Oil), 1/8, 1/4 mile, gas mileage, reads and clears DTC's/codes on the fly, and GPS option to boot. If you change tire size (45's to 35's) you can change that in your DashDAQ for accurate MPH, and much, much more. Ease install, hooks right up to your OBDII port. If you are even thinking about a future mod such as the AEM/FIC you WILL need to track and read data!! DashDAQ from Drew Technologies

well, your DashDAQ is starting at 600$ and more, and can go up to 1000$ easily and more, and I don't really need this, I just want to see my speed with the HKS SLD, and I like a real speedometer with a needle that would cost me around 300$ and I'll keep it for everycar in the future.

Someone got caught at 233 kmh recently (in newspaper) and his car was not even towed... but around 2000$ fine and another 100-200$ fine for too much used tires. ![]() He lost his licenses for only 6 months too. Last edited by Samud; March 27th, 2011 at 11:38 AM. |

220? If that would be true every 1,5 l Honda Civic would be that fast. I´ll try to take a video next time I´m on the Autobahn. Is that true? Does no one go faster than 220? I remember me chasing a Porsche 911 with over 240 on the Autobahn
