gs to gt throttle body?

ive been hearing that it is possible to change the throttle body from the gs to the gt....can anybody explain how to do the process or has pics or vids on how to do this cause i really want to do this and get a spacer as well but i dont want to go into something that i don't know how to do so any help would be appreciated and also if doing this swap, would it throw a code on the computer? thanks

i just ordered mine today. you will only need the throttle body to start. grind the leg that stops it from sitting flush, then just bolt it on. after you get the spacer from outlaw or rpw, take off the throttle body and put the spacer on, then reassemble. get the throttle body from car-part.com search for one from a galant, eclipse, or endeavor with the 3.8L engine. also you should do the throttle body bypass while your at it but you will have to search for the how to on that.

thanks a lot guys. what exactly is a throttle body bypass and how do you do that? what numbers are we looking at when this is all done and how much is the throttle body?

bypass doesnt add numbers. just keeps the coolant out of the TB. making it a bit more efficient

TB bypass and spacers will lower your intake air temperatures. This does create power, but nothing you're going to see or feel.

the main thing i noticed.was that after the 1st 10 minutes of driving upon cold start up,the sluggishness was gone.if your in tune with your car,you will notice this after the bp.

^^^lmao..but really your looking at maybe 15 with a really good tune from a f/ic after installing the throttle body and spacer.

I dunno about the year but I just put a v6 galant throttle body on my gs 4 cylinder eclipse. Since the bolt pattern is the same from gs to gt then if you run the same throttle body as the newer ones than yes same tb. But the mivec comes from the cam not the tb.
