Gauges

So I've been looking at getting a glowshift gauge pod, but I am wondering what gauges would be the most useful. I know that I want Air/Fuel ratio, but I don't really know what else would be helpful...I'd go for nitrous pressure for down the road but...thats down the road
so tl;dr, what are the three most important gauges?

Well, if you're going nitrous route you'll wanna watch your fuel pressure..

Perhaps oil pressure or temp.

Personally I have Voltage, Fuel Pressure, and Oil Temp gauges.

A/F is gonna be done when I get an FIC...and Nitrous pressure is when the nitrous system gets installed. Will probably just remove my stock hump panel and do the custom gauge pod there for additional gauges.

right now I have boost/vacuum, oil pressure, and AFR. I want a fuel pressure gauge, personally. they have some expensive digital ones that you can mount inside the cabin, but it used to be that you had to mount that under the hood b/c you wouldn't want fuel coming into the inside of the car in any way. so if you get a fuel pressure gauge, just make sure it's one where the sensor is under the hood and it sends the reading to gauge in the pod.

so you can always use a voltmeter as 'filler' - it's pretty cheap, but it's usefulness is minimal in most circumstances. I'd do oil pressure for sure, also.

^ that's what I'm getting Joey the excact same setup for my cluster, Digi Boost/Oil Pressure/Wideband. Just do it that way (replacing boost with nitrous pressure), or you could get oil temp if you wanted, volts to fill yada yada.

I'm not entirely sure why I need to be monitoring oil pressure, oil temp, or fuel pressure though...can someone give me the quick rundown on why these are important or direct me to somewhere?

Its always good to know your oil psi by the numbers. An aftermarket gauge reads more true so temp gauges are a +. A wideband would be the 1st choice.

All right, so it looks like I'm going with AFR(not wideband) Oil pressure, and Oil temp

Hey umm AFR (I'm guessing air/fuel ratio) what a wide and is, what do you mean when You say not a wideband. I Suggest getting the AEM UEGO so it can tie into a FIC down the road. Since you have stock fuel components you won't really need to worry about your fuel pressure, but it's always smart to check oil pressure and temp, those two things can fluctuate more on an n/a motor than some other things.

Agh sorry I'm an idiot and thought wideband was like an option on the gauge, not an actual thing...disregard haha. I may ignore afr and go fuel temp oil pressure and oil temp then, since a wideband afr is an extra 160

602customs has a spectacular aura about
Is it possible to get the Oil Temperature from the ECU so you don't Need Another Sensor?

I meant to say oil instead of fuel man I don't know what I was saying. Disregard that earlier lol fuel temp doesn't change OIL temp does. I edited and fixed

602: some cars have that sensor but I dont think ours does. Someone chime in and prove me wrong if you know I don't 100%

No ecu does not read temp just put a T on the oil sending unit so u can do pressure and temp easy as hell

Get the sandwich plate...don't T into your lines.

The sandwich plate has enough taps in it to read your oil temp, oil pressure, and an extra spot for whatever you might find useful.

Voltage is not a "noob gauge" it's important if you're running alot of electronics and want to watch the draw on your system. Undervoltage conditions can cause bad things to happen to your electrical system...especially as picky as our Eclipse one is.

Not gonna lie though, I got my volt gauge as a "filler" until I go for nitrous pressure.

All of the gauges from Glow Shift come with sender units and feed the signal into your cabin by wire. No fuel or oil lines in your cabin.

Just put mine in my eclipse and also just put a full set into the 300ZX.

If you're running nitrous you NEED to do fuel pressure.

You'd wanna know if your fuel pressure dropped too low when you start spraying so you can stop spraying on it. Also it would let you know if you'd need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator...

I can read my voltage through my gps and radar lmao it's a noob gauge dude... And for oil what else is there to measure besides pressure and temp... Is there a level checker too??
