Difference between regular K&N oil filter and 'Racing' filter?

What is the difference between the two? The part numbers ate HP-1008 for regular and PS-1008 for the racing. I think the price is about the same.

The guy at Advance Auto said the 'HP' stands for 'high-performance' on the regular one.

Anybody know anything about this?

I've always heard, 'Get the best oil and the best filter you can' so I'm trying to do that. I got the oil, now just deciding on the filter....

Thanks!

HP should only be used on a race track, and not everyday driving. Reason being, the HP one has less filtration to allow air flow, where the regular one offers best protection for you motor.

I use K&N on my motorcycle, and switch between the two for road and track
